http://yoox.ly/Leroy_Sanchez Say that you're 15-years-old and you decide to sing the song "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson in front of your webcam. Say you then post the video on YouTube. Because you had so much fun doing your first video, you continue on to post more than seventy songs. In a short time, you reach nearly 28 million views from all around the world. Say your name is Leroy Sanchez and soon after posting your videos online, someone discovers you have real talent. It is now time for you to leave your small town in Spain and fly to the United States, where you start living a dream... Leroy Sanchez is 22 years old, has a contract with Rebel Rock & Interscope Records and is working on his first album, which will be released in a few months. In the meantime, he is about to perform in the South by South West Festival, the first of a long series of concerts that will take him to travel all around the United States. To create his looks he asked for yoox.com's styling. "My personal style is not having style," he laughs, "that's why I'm sure this collaboration with yoox.com will be very useful for me, other than very fun!" Born and raised in Vitoria, Spain, Leroy discovered his strong passion for singing at a very early age. After becoming a star on YouTube, the famous producer Jim Jonsin (who produced artists like Beyoncé, Usher, Lil Wayne and Kelly Rowland) decided to fly him to Miami and meet Leroy personally. Soon after Jonsin offered him a contract with his label. Leroy's first CD will be out by next Fall. In the meantime the 'rising star' worked as a background vocalist in the tenth edition of American Idol, and performed for personalities such as J.Lo, Marc Antony and Prince. From now on, Leroy decided that yoox.com will be his personal stylist for all his concerts, videos and public appearances. Moving forward, Leroy will also start a series called "Dressing Leroy Sanchez", on YouTube, in which he will ask his fans to help him in the final choice of his outfits by voting their favorite. *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. ► FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE, English Indie Rock Band | An Exclusive Interview with yoox.com

03:58
http://yoox.ly/yooxFashion Florence and the Machine formed in 2007 in London. The band is the recording name of lead singer and songwriter Florence Welch and a collaboration of other artists who provide backing music for her, with Florence the only constant member. Florence grew up in Camberwell, south London, the oldest of three children. She started singing along to Nina Simone and Dusty Springfield at home, expanded her vocal range with arias, before attending Camberwell Art College where she started developing her unique persona before being discovered singing Motown covers in a nightclub toilet. Musically Florence and the Machine's sound is generally referred to as soul-inspired indie rock. Her debut album Lungs, released in the summer of 2009, is an all-encompassing mix of harps, choirs, drums, string quartets and Gothic imagery. However, Florence says it's usually simple. "Everything is about boys! The whole album is about love -- and pain. People see my lyrics as crazy, but to me it's an honest, heartfelt album. I didn't set out to be wacky. I just want it to be emotive." Amongst her most popular songs are her own creations, including "Kiss With A Fist", "Dogs Days Are Over" and "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)", as well as covers such as Candi Staton's "You've Got The Love". *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. Established in Laren, Holland in 1969 and considered a "paradise for artists", it was founded according to an idea of the harpist Rosa Spier and funded by her friend and art-lover Henriette Polak. A unique place, where creative spirits are encouraged to continue their work. MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA Martin Margiela was born in Belgium and graduated from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts. The Maison Martin Margiela was founded in 1988 in Paris, and presented its first prêt-à-porter collection for spring/summer 1989. This collection featured a completely white rectangular label attached by four stitches apparent on the exterior of unlined garments. Line 10, the first men's collection of the house, was created ten years later (1999). In 1994 the Maison launched its first fundraising AIDS T-shirt, which now rotates seasonally. Part of the profits are donated to benefit an AIDS research foundation. Additional Maison lines include the women's and men's collections 4 and 14; accessories collection 11; 22, a collection of shoes for women and men; MM6, a less design-driven collection for women; Eyewear for men and women, 8; and fine jewellery, 12. ► HURTS, Synthpop British Band ♪ | An Exclusive Interview with yoox.com

02:00
http://yoox.ly/shopyoox Could it be the sound of 2010? A growing number of enthusiasts seem to think Hurts deserves the title of most exciting band of the year. These stylish Brits have charmed the music world with a wittily somber take on pop and they are fast becoming favorites with the fashion crowd thanks to their effortless chic. Are they worth all the hype? After meeting them for an exciting interview The New Yooxer's answer is Yes! While no one is fond of a show-off there is something strikingly simple about the highly talked-about duo, which neither the attention from the fashion world nor their growing success in the charts seem to have had any influence on. After falling in love with Better than Love and Wonderful Life and the visually perfect accompanying video, it was only a matter of time before the buzz grew into a full-blown shout of love. Watch the interview and understand why. ABOUT HURTS Before Hurts, singer Theo Hutchcraft and synthesizer Adam Anderson were in bands Bureau and Daggers, the latter of which supported Gary Numan. But on a trip to Italy, they discovered "disco-lento" (slow disco), became fixed on a more austere and stylish European aesthetic and Hurts were born. Musically, they construct melancholic 1980s-inspired electro-pop. This ironically fresh sound somewhat reminiscent of Depeche Mode got them noticed not only by the music press but also by the Guardian for whom they were "Band of the day" in July 2009, as well as by the BBC who panels of industry experts voted them third runners-up in the "Sound of 2010" poll. In early 2010 they officially released their debut single, Better Than Love, and played their first ever live shows. Their debut album called Happiness was released on 6 September 2010. It contains a duet with Kylie Minogue entitled Devotion. *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. Discover more: http://ow.ly/4mRbVJ DOPPIA FIRMA: a tribute to Italian creativity and craftsmanship There's magic in the skilled hands of an artisan: the ability to give materials new forms and bring them to life. And then there’s the creative mind of the designer, an inventor of new worlds. From the meeting of these seemingly distant minds comes the perfect imperfection of sixteen unique objects. This is Doppia Firma, an extraordinary project launched by Living, Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte and yoox.com to bring together sixteen Italian designers and sixteen of Italy’s master artisans. It’s a unique chance to showcase and support collaboration between these Italian talents, helping to modernize tradition and turn designers’ ideas into reality as only master craftsmanship can. 03:54
http://yoox.ly/yooxFashion Poetry, emotion, craftsmanship: in an exclusive video interview, the designer from Alghero talks about his creative vision and personal style, passion for his native Sardinia and for the cinema, and his relationship with fashion. The cult of tradition, but also of experimentation, characterizes the "Laboratorio" collection: the designer describes it as "not really prêt-à-porter, not really couture". Every single item has been created, designed and developed in his workshop-home in Alghero, Sardinia, where Antonio Marras was born and where all his collections come to life, taking his "Made in Italy" around the world. Despite being the Creative Director of the French label Kenzo, he still lives in Alghero and considers this town his source of inspiration. Is it an emotional choice? Antonio Marras opens up with The New Yooxer, admitting it may be, but there are also other reasons: there is much more to find out about Marras' world. ► DELFINA DELETTREZ, Jewelry Designer | An Exclusive Interview with yoox.com

05:33
http://yoox.ly/yooxFashion The New Yooxer interviews the uber-talented young jewelry designer . Shop a selection of her designs on yoox.com As often is the case with great creative minds, Delfina Delettrez seems to be holding the key to a great mystery. Whatever hides behind her deep penetrating eyes and distinctive aloof elegance? And where does she find the myriad inspirations that feed her beautiful imagination? The New Yooxer met her in the hope of finding out... As a fourth-generation Fendi she is no stranger to the arts and yet there is something deeply distinctive and personal to Delfina's creative vision. With a great passion for beauty, fashion and a strong belief in the power of women, no doubt inherited from the long line of outstanding females she descends from, she has somewhat managed to become one of the most important jewelry designers of this generation --despite being barely into her twenties. In the 25 square meters of her atelier in Rome, Delfina combines her experience and craftsmanship with her passion for life from her childhood memories from Rio de Janeiro to her recollections of Parisian taxidermists and her frequent walks through the streets of Rome, in a continuous cross-reference between avant-garde and antiques, light and shadow, humor and drama. Her style journey started out as an exploration of insect gardens and other worldly anatomies, touched upon the ever-so-blurred boundaries between the masculine and the feminine to end up at the "Roll-In-Stones" collection, which speaks of nature and movement in the precious talismans designed to be passed on between women. The New Yooxer met the young designer in Ponza, Italy -- between past memories and future plans, came out a disarming portrait of a free spirit and natural talent. ABOUT DELFINA DELETTREZ FENDI The daughter of Silvia Venturini Fendi, at just over 20 years of age, Delfina Delettrez is the most influential jewelry designer of her generation. Born in Rome and raised in Italy and Brazil, Delfina made her fashion début working in Chanel's style department. Her innate sense of aesthetics and passion for accessories led her to design her first jewelry collection, presented to the press in October 2007. Since then Delfina has never looked back. Catapulted from enfant prodige to international star, each of her collections draws the unanimous acclaim of the fashion system and is a landmark for the entire creative scene. Art and culture in every form, from botany to religion through anatomy, music and architecture, are beautifully expressed using premium materials and excellent craftsmanship to create pieces that have made contemporary jewelry history. *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. As an honored guest during the 66th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, Jun showed a preview of the Men's 2010 collection and shared his style inspirations with a doll-making event in Florence's Boboli gardens, much to the delight of the fashion public. Using needle and thread to create "beauty and horror", the dolls of Undercover became a kind of stylish laboratory experiment, resulting in a series of lacey creatures named Grace, aptly named for the spontaneous spirit with which they were brought to life. Hybrid creatures that fall somewhere between the feminine and the alien, the realistic and the fantastic, the dolls were a first step in challenging the standard fashion show stereotypes while proposing a new way of representing rock 'n roll spirit behind the Spring/Summer 2010 Collections, and were complemented by a photographic installation by the artist Katsuhide Morimoto. Undercover's mission has always been to emphasize the driving "concept" behind every collection, an exercise in communication that goes beyond any single garment to reveal the greater vision that lies beneath. A vision that would otherwise remain "Undercover". *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. ► A Mobile Life by GIOVANNA BATTAGLIA | An Exclusive Interview by yoox.com

02:23
http://yoox.ly/shopyoox Fashion Editor and stylist Giovanna Battaglia talks exclusively to YOOX Group Founder and CEO Federico Marchetti about fashion and technology: the passions of a fashion geek. Model and muse of Dolce&Gabbana, renowned Italian fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia collaborates with top international fashion magazines and is now Fashion and Style Consultant for prestigious luxury fashion brands. Battaglia is also admired for her personal style, of fresh and glamorous elegance. She is a true web icon, popular with photo bloggers and is often featured in magazines as one of the best dressed women in the world. THE INTERVIEW MY PASSIONS... I consider myself a fashion "geek": I love technology nearly as much as I love fashion! The idea of creating an iPhone cover was born of this passion, it's an accessory that takes up a large part of my life... why not decorate and embellish it? I like the idea of having designed something pop, modern, fun and simple, that can be changed every day to match your mood. MY WARDROBE I have two wardrobes, one in Milan, the other in New York. I am always traveling and I often forget important pieces in one or the other. This means that I do a lot of online shopping. You can find everything on the web, and have it delivered wherever you want. On yoox.com I have found items that I'm really thrilled with, true "gems", like my lip print Prada skirt. BAGS The ideal wardrobe should include three types of bag. A weekender, for trips away as well as busy days at the office. A classic handbag, medium-sized, bon ton and chic, a true passe-partout. And lastly, a clutch for the evening, plain or embellished by sequins and crystals. SHOES I have my basic staples, which are a go-to and fit for any occasion. A black pump with a 4'' heel, a slightly masculine moccasin loafer, and a pair of golden sandals, simple but with a towering heel. I like wedges and platforms worn with sixties-style short flared dresses and stilettos take on an air of bon-ton chicness when complemented by fifties tube dresses. Finally, for a look that is sure to catch the eye, draw your inspiration from Audrey Hepburn: ballet flats or boyish lace-ups worn with ankle grazers and a classic white shirt. JEWELS I love jewelry, whether real or imitation. I like colorful, large pieces that attract attention, because they make even the most basic outfit look special. I often wear very large earrings (my favorite!) but also deliberately 'out there' necklaces. The most original way to wear them? With garments of clean lines, creating a bold and unexpected contrast. Or render jewels almost kaleidoscopic with multicolor and floral prints. *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. ► DAVIDE OLDANI, the Michelin-starred Italian Chef | An Exclusive Interview by yoox.com

03:09
http://yoox.ly/adinnerpartyinmilano Davide Oldani's Pop Cuisine A conversation with the Michelin-starred chef who created the exclusive menu for yoox.com "Pop cuisine is a way of cooking and a way of life for me. It is a style which is reflected in my style and my work," says David Oldani. The celebrated chef, who after studying in the most prestigious culinary schools around the world and training under Gualtiero Marchesi and Alain Ducasse, decided to go back to Italy. In his hometown Cornaredo, near Milan, he opened D'O, his restaurant which presents the highest quality dishes. It was almost immediately prized with a Star by the famed Michelin Guide. Oldani's secret 'ingredient' is his beloved family. "Having the security of knowing that even though we sometimes fall there is always someone ready to help us get up makes it all a lot less painful," says the chef. The secret of all the Italians is instead their great palate. "I inherited mine from my mother," he laughs. "The best way to feel well is to live with conviviality and hospitality. 'Italianness' around the table is the desire to spend time together, which is another important 'ingredient' for a successful dinner," Oldani explains. For all the friends of YOOX and 11 special guests, Oldani created a food tasting menu for an Italian dinner party. "I have always loved the number 11. Eleven because I used to play soccer, 11 like the number of people who collaborate with me in my restaurant. Eleven will also be the number of people I will cook for in YOOX's home! It was an amazing experience because I met people I do not know. The beautiful thing about my job is I always come across very different people." As for his future plans and dreams? "Francis, the person for whom I would really love to cook is Pope Francis," he concludes. *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. http://yoox.ly/shopyoox After Angela Lindvall, Elettra Wiedemann and Summer Rayne Oakes, the guest designer chosen for the new edition of the ever.green series is none other than Morcheeba's frontwoman Skye Edwards. In an exclusive video interview, the eclectic singer shares her passion for the green cause, and explains how a small gesture can make a big difference. The fruit of this new collaboration between YOOXYGEN and EDUN LIVE is an exclusive limited edition t-shirt inspired by the art featured on the band's latest album. "The idea came from the album illustrations where I changed the symbolic drop of blood from red to green, in order to give it an 'eco' touch." Designed with both men and women in mind, the organic tee boasts a graphic and chic design made up of black drops but for a single green one. The story behind it all? The legend of an ex-priest turned vampire slayer, thirsty for the blood of sinners, as though it were lemonade. While wearers aren't expected to turn into blood-thirsty avengers, the design is a good metaphor for our responsibility towards the environment and the need to defend it from whoever may disrespect it. *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. ► LAPO ELKANN talks about his passion for Italy | An Exclusive Interview by yoox.com

01:25
http://yoox.ly/shopyoox Lapo Elkann's passion for Italy The stylish entrepreneur talks about being an Italian today Lapo Elkann's love declaration for his country is no secret: He is, in fact, quite direct about his admiration for all things Italian. The entrepreneur opened up about these passions during the filming for yoox.com's holiday campaign: "I spent the first 18 years of my life abroad then I decided to come back to Italy and chose to be 100% Italian," he explained. "The love I feel for my country is very strong." His brand, Italia Independent, was, of course, founded in Italy and, for him, is a project defined by both "tradition and innovation." He goes on to explain more: "We are the only ones who offer a personalized service on both our eyewear and lifestyle collections, with more than three million customizations." The perfect example is his latest pair of sunglasses, called Flag, which are a limited-edition design created exclusively for yoox.com. Elkann elaborates on the mission for Italian Independent is to "make the concept of Made in Italy up to date, exporting it in the rest of the world. This means being able to offer something that is conceived, created and developed in Italy with the country's unique mix of savoir faire and craftsmanship, which are the real 'ingredients' of our style." To his point, style is something completely different from fashion; it is not seasonal and never goes out of trend. Elkann concludes, "Being Italian today means being generous, with heart and emotions. Italy, for me, is the symbol of beauty in the world. I am extremely proud of being Italian." *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. ► JULIA SARR-JAMOIS presents "Ever(green) Camouflage" | by yoox.com

02:36
http://yoox.ly/EVERGREENCAMOUFLAGE JULIA SARR-JAMOIS: Stylist Camouflage revisited: Stand out in a style uniform. "Since the day of my first birthday, I have personally picked my own outfits," says Julia Sarr-Jamois while reminiscing about her innate passion for fashion. At age 12, after her mother's friend invited her to a Chanel show, Julia's destiny was determined; she would aspire to be a part of the fashion world. She has accomplished this feat with great success. Today, she lives in London and works as a freelance stylist for many glamorous magazines such as Pop, I-D Magazine, and Vogue Japan. Fashion bloggers love her, as do top-tier publications publications—American Vogue often ranks her as one of fashion's best-dressed talents. It's quite obvious why; her singular style is truly unparalleled. EVER(GREEN) CAMOUFLAGE MIX'N'MATCH My style is very relaxed and follows no rules. I like mixing clothes such as vintage pieces with new buys, bright colors with flashy prints and special textures. I only have one mantra: "Wear everything you like, and that makes you feel good. Have fun!" PAST & PRESENT My favorite piece in my closet is a pair of old Levi's jeans that belonged to my mother. Now they are practically falling apart but the shape and the way that they've been worn is perfect. I also love Sixties mini-skirts, Seventies flared jeans, Eighties oversized blazers and grunge elements from the Nineties. I like mixing these different styles because the result is always creative and up-to-date. My obsession? Grey sweaters, I have a whole section of my wardrobe for them. FASHION TIPS I love 'coloring' winter days by wearing bright colors. I have fun mixing different tones and prints together. My favorite ones are camouflage, animal prints and madras. I also like stealing iconic pieces from men's closets such as white shirts, blazers or cashmere jumpers. Wear these borrowed-from-the-boys pieces with a mini-dress, heels and show your legs to look more feminine in them. CAMOUFLAGE I have a passion for camouflage because it always comes back into fashion. A camou jacket is a real must-have and can be worn all year round. In the office you can match it with colorful basic dresses. In the evening I like wearing it in a more sexy way, with a sheer chiffon shirt or towering pump. To give camouflage a new look, pair it with a classic print like checks or polka dots. ICONS I don't really have a style icon. I have a group of friends who I think are inspiring. They have a great sense of style, and we have lots of fun getting ready before parties. We create the most memorable outfits together! *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. ► ZAHA HADID, Maxxi's Designer ✦ | An Exclusive Interview with yoox.com

03:28
http://yoox.ly/yooxDesign The New Yooxer meets Zaha Hadid in Rome, during the opening of Maxxi, the National Museum of Arts from the 21st Century. After ten years of expectations, art and architecture creatively blend into each other in this experimental area, fluid and light. With her London-based studio, Zaha Hadid has created architecture and design projects around the world with her deconstructed but sinuous, almost abstract, signature: from the Hotel Puerta America in Madrid to the Ordrupgaad Museum in Copenhagen, as well as the Chanel Contemporary Art Container, which is touring between Paris and Hong Kong. In 2004 she was the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Read the exclusive interview with Zaha Hadid: If you had a design manifesto, what would that be? My architecture takes the fluid dynamism of the sketching hand as a literal option for an architecture that is driven by new developments in digital design and enhanced manufacturing capabilities. Each project is the very latest development of this architecture explored by the practice, generating a sculptural sensuality with a coherent formal logic. Extensive developments in construction materials and techniques have also enabled us to rethink form and space radically. Would you describe your design objects as small architectures? The idea always comes from the same source, creation changes according to the focus, the technique, the project. Designing products is of great importance to us. The pieces are experimental, quicker to execute than the architecture projects and inspire creativity. We see it as part of a continuous process of design investigation. Which are your favorite designers from the past? I like the work of historical figures like Mies van der Rohe and Oscar Niemeyer. Oscar Niemeyer had a deep and lasting influence on my work. I have visited many of his works in Brazil, and also had the privilege to meet him personally on several occasions. You have recently designed a shoe collection: what is your relationship with fashion and shopping? These fashion collaborations provide an opportunity to express our ideas in a different scale and through different media. Contemporary society is not standing still and architecture and fashion must both evolve with the patterns of life. Maxxi is your first project in Italy: how did you imagine a dialogue between Rome's different architectures? It is important to intervene in a contemporary way -- but you must do it in a very precise manner. My idea is to start from local ideas and traditions in design but to then make them into something new and unusual. Apart from architecture, which are your inspirations? My ideas come from observation: of the site, of nature, of people moving in the city. It's always about how you move people through a space, and how they use it. According to the international press, it represents the confirmation of Rome's artistic renaissance: much more than just a museum, Maxxi is actually an urban campus. Built on the grounds of a former military barracks, the building has a moving structure: natural light models glass, steel and concrete, turning this system of geometries into an exhibition area to enjoy both indoor and outdoor. *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. ► A conversation with VANESSA BEECROFT | Exclusively for yoox.com

02:35
http://yoox.ly/VanessaBeecroft yoox.com presents Cassandra, the Polaroid by Vanessa Beecroft. A limited edition of 150 shots that become unique pieces. In conceiving this project I decided to realize an edition that instead of being reproduction of the same negative several times was the original shot of a photograph multiplied 150 times. I shot this edition with a Big Shot Polaroid. This work is a tribute to Walter Benjamin’s: The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction (…) When Marx undertook his critique of the capitalistic mode of production, this mode was in its infancy. Marx directed his efforts in such a way as to give them prognostic value. He went back to the basic conditions underlying capitalistic production and through his presentation showed what could be expected of capitalism in the future. The result was that one could expect it not only to exploit the proletariat with increasing intensity, but ultimately to create conditions which would make it possible to abolish capitalism itself. (…) They brush aside a number of outmoded concepts, such as creativity and genius, eternal value and mystery – concepts whose uncontrolled (and at present almost uncontrollable) application would lead to a processing of data in the Fascist sense. The concepts which are introduced into the theory of art in what follows differ from the more familiar terms in that they are completely useless for the purposes of Fascism. They are, on the other hand, useful for the formulation of revolutionary demands in the politics of art. (…) (…) In principle a work of art has always been reproducible. Man-made artifacts could always be imitated by men. Replicas were made by pupils in practice of their craft, by masters for diffusing their works, and, finally, by third parties in the pursuit of gain. Mechanical reproduction of a work of art, however, represents something new. Historically, it advanced intermittently and in leaps at long intervals, but with accelerated intensity. (…) BIO OF THE ARTIST Italian contemporary artist (born 1969, Genoa, Italy) Vanessa Beecroft studied architecture at the Civico Liceo Artistico Nicolò Barabino Architettura, Genoa (1983-7), painting at the Accademia Ligustica Di Belle Arti Pittura, Genoa (1987-8), and stage design at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Brera, in Milan, Italy (1988-93). Beecroft’s first exhibit, VB01, took place in Milan in 1993 and featured a series of drawings along with the past eight years of her ‘Food Diary.’ Her work was exhibited for the first time in New York at the Andrea Rosen Gallery in 1994. “Famed for her performances and exhibition openings, Vanessa Beecroft presents the evidence of these events in videos and photographic stills. Her work inhabits a realm where the lines between fashion, performance art, voyeurism and feminist commentary blur. As Collier Schorr has said of the artist ‘Beecroft is interested in the aesthetics of how women look when they are looked at, and her body-conscious projects encourage alienation between model, artist and audience.’ The artist herself asserts: ‘I am interested in the difference between what I expect and what actually happens.’ In Beecroft’s exhibitions, the viewer is challenged with the task to combine the context of the performance with the visual effects of its appearance in order to fully comprehend the work. Presently, Vanessa Beecroft lives and works in Los Angeles, California. **** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world’s leading online lifestyle store for fashion, design and art. ► CHIODO, Osanna Visconti di Modrone's Jewelry Collection | An Exclusive Interview with yoox.com

02:03
http://yoox.ly/shopyoox Exclusively for yoox.com Osanna Visconti di Modrone has created Chiodo - a capsule collection of pieces comprising a bracelet, earrings and necklaces based on the form of the hand-forged nail -- the ancient symbol of strength and practicality, famously co-opted by the underground punk counterculture movement in 1970's Britain. Osanna takes this form and renders it contemporary and feminine. 100% Made in Italy, the Chiodo collection is hand crafted in bronze, each element is hammered and finished by hand before being soldered together and signed by the designer. The pieces are then brushed to obtain a muted luminescence which recalls the luster and humility of ancient artifacts. "For the exclusive collection created for yoox.com, I decided to let my hands do the talking; a nail can generate so many ideas: from visions of a carpenter to a punk, blurring the line between art and craft and hopefully tweaking the imagination." stated Osanna Visconti di Modrone. Craftsmanship, originality and a focus on materials combined with unique forms - the Chiodo jewelry is the perfect addition to any look -- from an impeccable tailleur to club-ready street-style. ► MARGHERITA MACCAPANI MISSONI, "Her World & Wardrobe" | An Exclusive Interview with yoox.com

02:16
http://yoox.ly/yooxFashion "Life is a balance between giving and receiving, the objects we possess do not really belong to us, we are just holding on to them for now." It is with this spirit that Margherita Maccapani Missoni opens her world (and her wardrobe) to yoox.com. Historical pieces from the family maison, garments procured at flea markets, rare pearls and an endless love for fashion: the collection, original and unique, is now exclusively available on yoox.com. All proceeds will be donated to OrphanAid Africa, of which Margherita is Italian president. «It all began in 1958, when Tai and Rosita Missoni showed their first collection. The legendary Anna Piaggi was an early enthusiast, and soon the Missoni designs were gracing the covers of high-fashion magazines. There was even a delicious scandal: in 1967, when Missoni was invited to show at the prestigious Pitti Palace—it seemed that the models brassieres were visible beneath their gossamer Missoni tops, so Rosita told them to take them off! A great ruckus ensued, but it certainly didn't do the brand any harm: in 1969, the Missonis met with Diana Vreeland who took one look at their handiwork and purportedly exclaimed, "Look! Who said that only colors exist? There are also tones!" The world of Missoni has always been a family affair. Now, luckily enough, yoox.com has come into possession of almost 100 wonderful examples, the private archive of Margherita Missoni, granddaughter of the founders. Margherita serves as the President of the Italian chapter of the charity OrphanAid Africa. Proceeds from the yoox.com sale will be donated to that organization. Which means that when you purchase one of these very special vintage items, you are on your way to looking good and also doing good! Here is your chance to wear these colors proudly, and become an honorary member of the Missoni clan. » By Lynn Yaeger ABOUT ORPHANAID AFRICA ________________________________________ OrphanAid Africa (OA) is a non-profit organization developing programs and projects to help vulnerable children and their families in Ghana, West Africa *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art. ► TILDA SWINTON, the Making of Luca Guadagnino's "I Am Love" | Behind the Scenes with yoox.com

01:37
http://yoox.ly/shopyoox The New Yooxer interviews Tilda Swinton and Luca Guadagnino: from the cult clothes by Raf Simons to the emotional transformation of their characters, in the words of the leading actress-producer and the director of the Italian film Io sono l' Amore - I Am Love. Exclusive interview with Tilda Swinton and Luca Guadagnino L: Luca Guadagnino T: Tilda Swinton What is the movie about? L: I Am Love is about the endurable force of love. It is about how a family can change forever through the power of personal revolutionary choices. T: It's about family and inheritance. About the revolution of love. And about the inevitable triumph of nature -- both human and otherwise. Why choosing Tilda Swinton to represent the main character, Emma Recchi? L: I did not choose her. We made the movie together. What does fashion mean in this movie? L: Fashion is a great inspiration and a fertile collaboration to me. To be able to make ideas spring out of this encounter between fashion and cinema is a total absolute privilege. T: Substantially less than style does. And how does fashion/wardrobe underline the character? L: Fashion as pure creativity enables the character to be more unconventional and real. T: Everything in a truly cinematic film underlines character. The frame, the art direction within it, the colors, the movement of the camera. Character is only a construct of all these elements brought together -- one hopes, in harmony. Why choosing Jil Sander designed by Raf Simons for Emma's wardrobe? L: I always loved Raf Simons' work. I am in love with his artistry. That's why. T: Because the team at Jil Sander understood perfectly from the very outset that what we were looking for was an extremely subtle dialogue within the film with Emma's wardrobe. What does fashion mean to your professional and private life? T : It means company, in a very practical way. I have the great blessing to have as my friends a number of inspired people, many of them artists, working in fashion. My collaborations with them is a very particular and joyful part of my work as a whole. I find, in their company, an energy and a kind of precision that is unique: something to do with the supremely personal aspect of fashion -- how it calls up the spirit in all of us and dares us to be authentic. The Recchi family lives according to the strict rules of the Milanese haute-bourgeoisie, until Emma-Tilda Swinton rebels against them by falling for another man, who is well outside the aristocratic conventions. The director and Oscar-winning actress have created a film in which style choices emphasize personal transformations. The wardrobe of Emma Recchi indicates a precise historical and social context, while the colors develop the plot giving way to passion. *** yoox.com, established in 2000, is the world's leading lifestyle e-store for multi-brand fashion, design and art.
