Tiffany Barnett White is Associate Professor of Business Administration and Bruce and Anne Strohm Faculty Fellow at the University of Illinois, College of Business. She joined the faculty at Illinois in 1999 and received a Ph.D. in marketing from Duke University in 2000. Professor White is a consumer psychologist with research interests in the area of consumer-brand relationships. Her research addresses affective, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of these relationships, including self-brand attachments and the development and deterioration of consumer trust. Her research has been published in top journals in marketing and consumer psychology. The names and logos of famous brands have a secret meaning you've never heard of. Each company logo has a story behind it. Many brand names seem meaningless to us but have an interesting explanation in the language of the country they come from. “Lego” means “play well” in Danish, “Fanta” comes from German “Fantasie”, Chupa Chups was named so after the Spanish verb “chupar”, which means “to suck”, “Samsung” is Korean for “3 stars”. “Pandora” has to do with a myth of the creation of the first human woman named Pandora. As for the logos, some of them were inspired by real sights, such as the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany for Disney. Others have historical meaning, such as the red cross from the city of Milan’s emblem, and the bloodthirsty crowned viper of the House of Visconti in Alfa Romeo’s logo. The Chupa Chups symbol as we know it was designed by super famous artist Salvador Dali himself. I Mean It Creative is a Los Angeles-based branding and advertising agency. We offer global expertise and best-in-class ideas to help projects, brands, companies, cities, and countries stand out globally. Sarbast, the first Uzbek beer to get international recognition under the umbrella of Carlsberg Group, the pride of Uzbekistan. I Mean It Creative has recently been hired to create a remarkable story for Sarbast’s modern new brand image. We have identified what the brand stands for, and what its promotional goals are. To that effect, we created a dual image for the brand personality. We analyzed its promise and also highlighted the emotional value. Next, Sarbast asked I Mean It Creative to produce a promotional film. Video content, after all, can be used on several different platforms, from social media posts and advertisements to emails and marketing sites. There are basic formats that each video follows — from initial idea to final cut — no matter what the company’s marketing aim, or the budget. First we started with 'identifying the goal’. Sarbast needed to create a brand awareness, drive traffic to their website, increase customer awareness, educate sales teams across Uzbekistan. With this insight we explained the powerful and unique values Sarbast has and not the competitors, the same values that make Sarbast different from other beer brands. The ingredients and quality factors in their production process has been filmed at their facilities in Tashkent. On the way back from Uzbekistan our executives brought the Sarbast products to our headquarters located in Los Angeles. Our specialized production crew filmed all the ingredients that Sarbast used with high-definition cameras. The result was beautiful shots of each drop and splash with backgrounds, smoke and mist in slow motion. In the meantime, we also wrote a narrative that is informative, but also entertaining. We produce viral videos that audiences crave for, make them immediately feel like: “I want a beer!” To create a “WOW effect” we strategically pick a commanding voice-over actor, and compose the appropriate music to set a specific tone. Our in-house editors are experts at cutting trailers for Hollywood films — storytelling is in their blood. Color correction and sound mixing are the final touches before we finalize the promo. And with this promo launch, Sarbast, the first international Uzbek beer, is now ready for its customers.

Clara is a designer, researcher, educator and consultant who has worked in the sustainable fashion space in UK and Europe for ten years, and is now based in Sydney, Australia. She was part of the team at the University of the Arts London who designed The TEN, a pioneering sustainable design methodology used by brands including H & M; VF. Corp. and Gucci Group. Clara has recently established a consultancy business that utilises The TEN framework to equip Australian fashion companies with training and insight on sustainable product innovation and strategy.
