15 MOST Luxurious Fashion Brands

11:15
From Oscar de la Renta to Chanel, here are some of the most lavish and prestigious fashion brands. Subscribe to Hindered Thoughts http://goo.gl/d3U3RP 6. Chanel The high fashion wear company was introduced to the world back in 1909 by none other than Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, otherwise known as “Coco Chanel.” This is where the brand gets its inspiration for the famously recognizable logo that is two interlocking C’s. The company specializes in creating haute couture for its wealthy clients but also for fashion models like Naomi Campbell, who once modeled for them, and actresses Marilyn Monroe, Keira Knightley, and Nicole Kidman. One of their most famous products is the perfume No. 5 de Chanel, along with the Chanel Suit. Today, Chanel is valued at being $6.8 billion dollars. An interesting fact to note is that Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director behind Fendi, happens to be the creative director for Chanel as well. 5. Prada Founded back in 1913 by Mario Prada, this fashion brand actually started out by manufacturing leather bags and trunks. It would then evolve into selling everything from clothing to perfume and even a brief stint of LG Prada cell phones. Though the brand may have broadened its inventory, it still spends the majority of its focus creating some of the world’s most exclusive handbags that only the rich and famous can possibly hope to afford. Mario Prada believed that women should not be involved in business so he excluded his own family members from getting involved. In a fantastic twist of irony, his son did not care to run the business so his daughter Luisa Prada took over as his successor and is now currently being run by her daughter Miuccia. 4. House of Versace The fashion empire that is the House of Versace all started with fashion designer Gianni Versace back in 1978. He created a brand that has been synonymous with elegance and simply oozes high fashion. His glamorous gowns have gone on to make a name for himself as a respected designer. Like the case of the famous black dress held with gold safety pins that actress Elizabeth Hurley wore back in 1994 to the premiere of Four Weddings and A Funeral. Sadly, Versace’s life was cut short in 1997 on the steps of his Miami mansion when he became the fifth and final victim of Andrew Cunanan. The tragic event will be the story behind American Crime Story’s season 2 titled: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. After his death, his sister Donatella became the new Artistic Director and has established a $5.5 billion company her brother would be proud of. 3. Gucci Started in 1921 by a Mr. Guccio Gucci, the company was originally dabbing in leather goods. It wasn’t until 19 years later when his son Aldo would take the company from being a one-stop shop into the fashion powerhouse that it’s now known for being. It’s Aldo that would usher in the era of the brand’s iconic “Bamboo Bag” and its “ready to wear segments.” In the 90’s, the company decided to bring American Fashion designer Tom Ford to revamp their women’s wear. He ended up helping launch the brand to where it is today. The fashion brand houses other well-known designers in its collections such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Yves Saint Laurent. If you’re in the market to do some shopping at this $12.4 billion brand, expect to spend at least $2,000. 2. Louis Vuitton This may come as a shock but the famous fashion brand has been around longer than you might have thought. Formed 163 years ago in 1854, a young man by the name of Louis Vuitton started out as an apprentice for a box-maker. Vuitton ended up becoming a well-known crafter of luxury trunks and opened up his own shop in Paris. He then ended up becoming the personal box-maker of Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugenie de Montijo. Fast forward years later and the company is now worth $28.1 billion with a generated revenue of $10.1 billion. Today, Louis Vuitton doesn’t make just trunks but designer handbags and clothing that can be spotted on the most famous of A-listers. 1. Balenciaga The beginning of Balenciaga’s reign began back in 1919 when it was established by its founder of the same name, Cristóbal Balenciaga. As a young child, Balenciaga became an apprentice to a tailor in his hometown of Getaria, Spain and would eventually get his formal training in Madrid. He would go on to create the House of Balenciaga and skyrocketed to success thanks to his artistic genius. He was hailed as the undisputed “ King of Fashion” and was highly respected among his peers which included the likes of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Pierre Balmain. Balenciaga even helped train the likes of high-fashion designers Oscar de la Renta and Hubert Givenchy to name a few.

Designer labels are fine with me when we’re speaking “investment pieces” and classic design icons, and as long as we don’t overdo our consumption of these. I actually think it’s important that we support good designs and originality. But even some designer labels have become greedy since the evolution of fast fashion; that means they have kept their high price points, but the quality may not always be worth the money. So it’s tricky! Watch the video to find out more, and let me know your thoughts down below too. How To Pronounce Fashion Words? | Latest Fashion Terms | VOGUE India

The European origins of fashion have reduced us to Google the occasional tricky terminology and label names. While we have mastered the more commonly used ones, we are still left with a hesitant linger more than a confident roll of the tongue. Whether your worldly travels have polished your elocution or if your learn-from-a-screen, less than covetable articulation (which does nothing to deter you away from label love); there are others like you. We did the rounds and challenged the coolest crew to pronounce the trickiest words and here’s what it sounds like. Start your clothing line with a good logo and brand name. Every fashion brand or apparel company needs an iconic visual design. Let clothing brand mentor Jon Phenom help. Important thing to bear in mind is people's initial reaction to it. I try to stay away from relatively common words or real trendy slang for 2 reasons. 1) It may limit you to a certain type of customer base (unless that's what you want). 2) Trademark issues. How to Start a Clothing Line — Making Clothing, Designing and Sales

The hard part is in growing it and maintaining your vision for the brand through the hard times. It all starts with a vision, and then comes down to the products that you decide to create. There is no need to spend thousands of dollars for printing, sewing or opening up your own building to start your brand. You can start this right out of your own house, on your terms, while working or going to school. With that being said it’s important to note how products are actually made, so you have a clear understanding of manufacturing. ****How To Design Clothing**** All designs start off with a sketch, then go onto a CAD design to make the patterns, then sampling and finally making adjustments if they are needed. Adjustments will be necessary, so that is why making your own products can be expensive. An alternative route in order to start your clothing line is discussed in this video, which will help you get off the ground and create a clothing brand. From there you must market and sell your products and finally start shipping. These steps are essentially the things you will need to do in order to start and grow your clothing line. ****Resources To Help You Start**** Bella Canvas - Manufacturer of the best blank apparel: http://bit.ly/2t9Guo6 DesignCrowd- work with hundreds of thousands of graphic artists to create your next T-shirt or brand design: http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-8123096-12123856?sid=email Fiverr Design logo, business cards, branding and much more for as little as $5 dollars: http://tracking.fiverr.com/SH1rz Build Your eCommerce website with Shopify. Fashion Business Plan Template: How to Start a Fashion Business Plan (in 20 mins)

23:03
Learn how to create fashion business plan in less than 20 mins instead of spending days/weeks/months creating one. How to start a fashion business? or How to start a clothing business? The first step is creating a fashion business plan or fashion business model. In the above video, we are going to learn how to create your fashion business plan in 20 mins. You must be wondering why 20 minutes, typical fashion business plan takes days/weeks to create. A perfect fashion business plan is a myth. Studies have shown that what separates successful fashion brands from unsuccessful is not the perfect plan but the ability to turn profitability before running out of resources. The way to start successful fashion business is not to spend weeks creating your perfect business plan but going out talking to your customers and modifying your fashion business model to adapt to customer’s needs. Time is a critical resource when you are starting a clothing line and you should not fall into the analysis paralysis path. Perfection is not the goal here, the goal is to create a snapshot of your initial thinking w.r.t. your customers, product, unique value proposition, revenue stream etc so you can establish a baseline as you are starting a clothing line and then modify/update it based on customer feedback. We are going to use a tool named Lean Canvas created by Ash Maurya in order to accomplish this. If you have any specific questions, please drop them in the comment and I will reply to them at my earliest convenience. Indian Designer Creates DIY Recycled Fashion from Thrifted Clothing

01:56
Aywira boutique features original up-cycled, DIY fashions made from thrifted / recycled ties, scarves, and handkerchiefs. Open for business twice a week, the 16 of July market is the largest in South America and Bolivia. With close to 500 thousand vendors Claudia Perez is a regular shopper. But she's not shopping for herself. She is buying material for her recycled clothing line called Aywira. She looks for top-of-the-line neckties, scarves and handkerchiefs mostly sent to Bolivia from developed countries. Then her and her partner make them into new clothes, often selling them back to the countries they came from. She says she's been collecting nice material for seven years but at the beginning she didn't know what to do with it. [Claudia Perez, Fashion Designer]: "I wanted to really reuse it, to reuse the raw material. More than anything the great materials like silk, for example. I wanted to use it to make beautiful things." Once she has scoured the used clothing stalls, Perez takes her finds back to the Aywira boutique and studio. There, she and her business partner, Marcia Devil make the scraps into new clothes. [Marcia Devil, Fashion Designer]: "Something people might not realize is that we use really nice fabrics that come from specials brands, from fashion houses that specialize in fashionable ties like Hermes or [Salvatore] Ferragamo. We use these materials that would be too expensive to buy anywhere else. We recycle them in some way and in some of our pieces you can still see the label from the brand that we've used." The business partners say they have had a better than expected response to the new Aywira Vintage line. Locals and tourists alike have been buying up their unique creations. And they have even found a way to use smaller scraps of fabric to make accessories. The partners are proud of their thriftiness and what Perez calls "ethical fashion." She says it is all about the aesthetics and giving the clothing a second beautiful life.
