How to implement VPD (Virtual Private Database) in Oracle Database(9i,10g,11g,12c) Enterprise Edition. PART 1 Video links: Part 1 https://youtu.be/JVvtvh3cN1I Part 2 https://youtu.be/xLcin_Wgbvs Part 3 https://youtu.be/mE1cSbmEwnQ This is Part of Oracle Advance Security. Please view my earlier videos on how to create a database , if you are not having a database. 1)First we will create the users needed for our environment a)Owner of the schema which will have the objects or tables b)security admin user c)non owner user1 & user2 which will have limited access as per data in the rows (here user1 will have access to data with HR and user2 with FINANCE) Object owner creation: -------------- CREATE USER schemaowner IDENTIFIED BY schemaowner DEFAULT TABLESPACE users TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp; GRANT connect, resource TO schemaowner; alter user schemaowner quota unlimited on users; security admin user creation: -------------- CREATE USER SEC_ADM IDENTIFIED BY sec_adm default tablespace users temporary tablespace TEMP; GRANT CONNECT, RESOURCE TO sec_adm; alter user sec_adm quota unlimited on users; garnts for the sec_adm user: ------------- GRANT CREATE SESSION,CREATE ANY CONTEXT,CREATE PROCEDURE,CREATE TRIGGER, ADMINISTER DATABASE TRIGGER TO SEC_ADM; GRANT EXECUTE ON DBMS_SESSION TO SEC_ADM; GRANT EXECUTE ON DBMS_RLS TO SEC_ADM; create user with restricted access on table: ----------------------- CREATE USER user1 IDENTIFIED BY user1 DEFAULT TABLESPACE users TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp; GRANT connect, resource TO user1; CREATE USER user2 IDENTIFIED BY user2 DEFAULT TABLESPACE users TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp; GRANT connect, resource TO user2; Now we will log in as schemaowner and create one tables : ------------------- CONN schemaowner/schemaowner This table is the table which contains the secure as well as un-restricted data CREATE TABLE user_data (column1 VARCHAR2(50) NOT NULL, user_id VARCHAR2(30) NOT NULL); Now to access this table from other schema we need to give the select and insert privs to: GRANT SELECT, INSERT ON user_data TO sec_adm,user1, user2;

Simplified DBA-012-What is a SCHEMA in Oracle Database

02:32
Before you can create any table in database, you need access and resources in database. Access is allowed to a database user or schema. The term user and schema are used interchangeably. A schema is logical grouping of tables and other objects related to an application. Let say you have two different business applications. One application is used my manufacturing company that connect to database as MFG schema and other is a telecom application that connects to database as TEL schema. You will create two schemas as follows: CREATE USER MFG identified by oracle123 default tablespace users temporary tablespace temp; GRANT connect, resource to MFG; alter user MFG quota unlimited on USERS; CREATE USER TEL identified by oracle123 default tablespace users temporary tablespace temp; GRANT connect, resource to TEL; alter user TEL quota unlimited on USERS; alter user MFG quota unlimited on USERS Connect mfg/oracle123 Create table mfg_data(sno number(1) primary key, sname varchar2(20); Connect tel/oracle123 Create table tel_data(sno number(1) primary key, sname varchar2(20);

How to Create an user in Oracle

14:49
How to Create an user in Oracle with minimum grants/privileges we need to connect as SYSDBA lets ceate an user test you can see the user is created : But can it connect? lets open a new session we can see it lacks create session priv. so, we grant the create session privilege to user test lets test Its connecting. But is it able to create a table ,lets check. it lacks the ability to create table. SO lets give the privilege. lets test again the create table command. its throwing error regarding no Privilege on users tablespace . But we have given USERS as the default tablespace to test(user). So whats the problem? The problem is there is not quota defined for user test. lets give some quota like "10MB" or UNLIMITED , we will giev 10MB NOw let us test. So we can see that we now have sufficient / minimum privileges for the user test. Hope this will help in understanding the concept behind user creation

Suspense: Eve

01:02:56
Plots of thrillers involve characters which come into conflict with each other or with outside forces -- the threat is sometimes abstract or unseen. An atmosphere of creepy menace and sudden violence, such as crime and murder, characterize thrillers. Thrillers often present the world and society as dark, corrupt and dangerous. But in Hollywood they usually feature upbeat endings in which evil is overcome. The tension usually arises when the character(s) is placed in a menacing situation, a mystery, or a trap from which escaping seems impossible. Life is threatened, usually because the principal character is unsuspectingly or unknowingly involved in a dangerous or potentially deadly situation.[15] Thrillers emphasize the puzzle aspect of the plot. There are clues and the viewer/reader should be able to determine the solution at about the same times as the main character. In thrillers the compelling questions isn't necessarily who did it but whether the villain will be caught before committing another crime. Hitchcock's films often placed an innocent victim (an average, responsible person) into a strange, life-threatening or terrorizing situation, in a case of mistaken identity, misidentification or wrongful accusation.[16] Thrillers take place mostly in ordinary suburbs and cities, although sometimes they may take place wholly or partly in exotic settings such as foreign cities, deserts, polar regions, or the high seas. Usually, tough, resourceful, but essentially ordinary heroes are pitted against villains determined to destroy them, their country, or the stability of the free world. Often in a thriller the protagonist is faced with what seem to be insurmountable problems in his mission, carried out against a ticking clock, the stakes are high and although resourceful they face personal dilemmas along the way forcing them to make sacrifices for others. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thriller_%28genre%29

Suspense: Drive-In / Strange Death of Gordon Fitzroy / House in Cypress Canyon

01:28:04
Thrillers often overlap with mystery stories but are distinguished by the structure of their plots. In a thriller, the hero must stop the plans of an enemy rather than uncover a crime that has already happened. Mystery thrillers also occur on a much grander scale: the crimes that must be prevented are serial or mass murder, terrorism, assassination, or the overthrow of governments. Jeopardy and violent confrontations are standard plot elements in the mystery-thriller genre (i.e., Triangle), unlike in the mystery genre where the story is more downbeat and dramatic (i.e., Changeling). While a mystery climaxes when the mystery is solved (i.e., Gosford Park), a mystery thriller climaxes when the hero finally defeats the villain (after reveal), saves his own life and often the lives of others (i.e., Oldboy). There is very little violence, menace and threat in mystery/detective films (especially between the villain and other innocent people), whilst the violence is quite intense in thrillers and the villain is more ruthless. In thrillers influenced by film noir and tragedy, the compromised hero is often killed in the process. A thriller isn't just about someone being murdered. There is always something bigger and more important at stake behind the murder that may endanger more lives. Where in a mystery the motive for a crime such as insurance fraud can be greed, in a thriller mere money doesn't come across as believable for all the terrible things the antagonist will do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspense_thriller

Suspense: Fear Paints a Picture / Reprieve / Two Birds with One Stone

01:30:00
One of the series' earliest successes and its single most popular episode is Lucille Fletcher's "Sorry, Wrong Number," about a bedridden woman (Agnes Moorehead) who panics after overhearing a murder plot on a crossed telephone connection but is unable to persuade anyone to investigate. First broadcast on May 25, 1943, it was restaged seven times (last on February 14, 1960) — each time with Moorehead. The popularity of the episode led to a film adaptation, Sorry, Wrong Number (1948), starring Barbara Stanwyck. Nominated for an Academy Award for her performance, Stanwyck recreated the role on Lux Radio Theater. Loni Anderson had the lead in the TV movie Sorry, Wrong Number (1989). Another notable early episode was Fletcher's "The Hitch Hiker," in which a motorist (Orson Welles) is stalked on a cross-country trip by a nondescript man who keeps appearing on the side of the road. This episode originally aired on September 2, 1942, and was later adapted for television by Rod Serling as a 1960 episode of The Twilight Zone. After the network sustained the program during its first two years, the sponsor became Roma Wines (1944--1947), and then (after another brief period of sustained hour-long episodes, initially featuring Robert Montgomery as host and "producer" in early 1948), Autolite Spark Plugs (1948--1954); eventually Harlow Wilcox (of Fibber McGee and Molly) became the pitchman. William Spier, Norman MacDonnell and Anton M. Leader were among the producers and directors. The program's heyday was in the early 1950s, when radio actor, producer and director Elliott Lewis took over (still during the Wilcox/Autolite run). Here the material reached new levels of sophistication. The writing was taut, and the casting, which had always been a strong point of the series (featuring such film stars as Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten, Henry Fonda, Humphrey Bogart, Judy Garland, Ronald Colman, Marlene Dietrich, Eve McVeagh, Lena Horne, and Cary Grant), took an unexpected turn when Lewis expanded the repertory to include many of radio's famous drama and comedy stars — often playing against type — such as Jack Benny. Jim and Marian Jordan of Fibber McGee and Molly were heard in the episode, "Backseat Driver," which originally aired February 3, 1949. The highest production values enhanced Suspense, and many of the shows retain their power to grip and entertain. At the time he took over Suspense, Lewis was familiar to radio fans for playing Frankie Remley, the wastrel guitar-playing sidekick to Phil Harris in The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show. On the May 10, 1951 Suspense, Lewis reversed the roles with "Death on My Hands": A bandleader (Harris) is horrified when an autograph-seeking fan accidentally shoots herself and dies in his hotel room, and a vocalist (Faye) tries to help him as the townfolk call for vigilante justice against him. With the rise of television and the departures of Lewis and Autolite, subsequent producers (Antony Ellis, William N. Robson and others) struggled to maintain the series despite shrinking budgets, the availability of fewer name actors, and listenership decline. To save money, the program frequently used scripts first broadcast by another noteworthy CBS anthology, Escape. In addition to these tales of exotic adventure, Suspense expanded its repertoire to include more science fiction and supernatural content. By the end of its run, the series was remaking scripts from the long-canceled program The Mysterious Traveler. A time travel tale like Robert Arthur's "The Man Who Went Back to Save Lincoln" or a thriller about a death ray-wielding mad scientist would alternate with more run-of-the-mill crime dramas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspense_%28radio_drama%29
