21 Amazing Facts About the Secret Service You've Never Heard Of

10:50
The work of the “men in black”, also known as the United States Secret Service, is shrouded in mystery and myths. We’re about to lift that veil of secrecy and discover some facts about these special agents. Their secret headquarters, code names they give presidents, their distinct hand position: there’s a lot to find out. The vice-president, the first family, former presidents and their families, and visiting heads of foreign states are also under the protection of the Service. Presidential candidates are also taken care of for 120 days before an election. All agents also undergo a skills development course every 8 weeks to keep them on top of their game. Each president’s route is thoroughly researched so that a hospital is always 10 minutes away. The agents have this time to take emergency measures. Jimmy Carter’s code name was Deacon, Bill Clinton was called Eagle, and Donald Trump’s code name is Mogul. One of the Secret Service’s rules is that the president should never be left alone. Agents have to participate in everything in his life, including his hobbies and visits to the doctor. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS There are more of them than we think. 0:43 They don’t just guard presidents. 1:00 There are 3 service phases. 1:31 They’re trained to throw themselves in front of bullets. 1:53 They’re ready to provide first aid. 2:23 They keep a bag of the president’s blood on them. 2:50 Mount Weather isn’t a myth. 3:20 Presidents have code names. 3:58 There are motion sensors in the floor of the Oval Office. 4:30 They participate in the president’s hobbies. 4:49 They go to the doctor with the president. 5:18 They track all threatening letters. 5:49 They monitor and record everything. 6:37 They don’t take an oath to die for their president. 7:07 There’s only been one agent killed in the line of duty. 7:28 They keep their headquarters a secret. 7:50 The Secret Service was established the day Lincoln was shot. 8:24 The Secret Service wasn’t created to protect the president. 8:48 They don’t always wear sunglasses. 9:14 They make mistakes too. 9:36 Their hands are always ready. 9:55 SUMMARY -There are around 6,500 agents. -Technically, the Secret Service has to protect anyone the President orders them to guard. -Agents first have to work in the office for 3 years. The second phase with challenging tasks lasts for 4-7 years. In the final phase, an agent is promoted to a higher position or returns to office work. -They use bullets specifically made for these training sessions that sting when they hit you and leave a colored mark but don’t actually hurt the agents. -Every agent has basic medical skills and is ready to keep calm in a critical situation. -Top agents always carry bags of the president’s blood so that there’s no risk with donors. -One member of the Cabinet doesn’t attend State of the Union address because he’s hidden in an underground bunker in Mount Weather, Virginia under the protection of the Secret Service. -For example, Barack Obama was Renegade, his wife was Renaissance, and their daughters were Radiance and Rosebud. -Agents can easily trace any movement and any potential threat with the help of sensors in the floor of the Oval Office. -Secret Service agents pick up different hobbies and develop new skills along with the Commander in Chief. -The president can’t be alone with a doctor without an agent as an escort, no matter what the president’s problem is. -The Secret Service checks all electronic and paper letters that contain any threats, even if they’re just a joke. -Agents always use as many cameras and video surveillance as they can. -There is no romantic “swearing” to take a bullet for the president. -There’s only been one case in history when a Secret Service agent died for the President. -The Secret Service headquarters is located in D.C. in a grey nine-story building without any identifying signs in H-street. -President Lincoln approved the idea of Secret Service the day he was shot. -Its original main purpose was to deal with counterfeiters and financial fraud. -The glare or lack of light could cause them to miss something important, so the agents don’t always wear sunglasses. -While Barack Obama was in an elevator with an armed officer, a man with a knife managed to trespass The White House grounds by jumping over a fence. -Their finger position may differ, but the meaning is always the same: the agents are ready to react quickly and draw their weapons. Secret Service in Action: Behind the Scenes (Waiting for President Obama)

05:07
President Obama has just arrived at the Globe Theatre in London and the United States Secret Service are busy turning the vehicles around since they drove down a dead-end street. The first vehicle seen here is a black Chevrolet Suburban which is the White House Communications Agency (WHCA) vehicle which ensures secure communications with the White House for command continuity. Notice that when the Secret Service Agent gets out of the back door of the Suburban, the window is completely covered over with some sort of non-transparent material. It could be metal. It's also clear that the vehicle has minimal if any armor unlike the other Suburbans in the "secure package" closer to the president. Also note that it's clear that the rear seat of the Suburban has been removed just from the way the USSS Agent climbs out of the back door. As The Beast is being turned around, one of the USSS agents asks the London Met Counter Assault Team to move the Land Rover which can been seen pulling out. You can also see a London Metropolitan counter Assault Team in an unmarked black BMW X5 at 01:06. At 02:27 we clearly see the Ford F-550 hazardous materials support vehicle pulling out and getting into position. This vehicle has a gurney in the back for transporting the injured protectee. At 01:02 : "I guess he's got to fill Air Force One with something." :) This is the Secret Service in Action. The Secret Service: Under fire

08:38
Created 150 years ago, the U.S. Secret Service was originally formed to combat counterfeiters. But after three presidents were assassinated, the agency was charged with protecting the commander-in-chief. Their proud legacy, however, has been tarnished by recent, unfortunate headlines. Lee Cowan talks with the new director of the Secret Service, Joseph Clancy, a 27-year veteran agent now tasked with turning the agency around; and with a former agent who once took a bullet for President Ronald Reagan.

U.S Secret Service • "Protect the President of U.S" • 2018

02:16
The United States Secret Service ("USSS" or "Secret Service") is a federal law enforcement agency under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.Until 2003, the Service was part of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, as the agency was originally founded to combat the then-widespread counterfeiting of U.S. currency. The U.S. Secret Service has two distinct areas of responsibility: Investigations – Safeguarding the payment and financial systems of the United States from a wide range of financial and computer-based crimes, including but not limited to counterfeit U.S. currency, identity theft, access device fraud, cyber crimes, network intrusions, ransomware, business email compromise, bank fraud, and illicit financing operations. The Secret Service is a key member of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) which investigates and combats terrorism on a national and international scale. The Service is also authorized to assist in investigating missing and exploited children. Protection – Ensuring the safety of the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States, the President’s and Vice President’s immediate families, former presidents, their spouses and their minor children under the age of 16, foreign heads of state, major presidential and vice presidential candidates and their spouses, and events designated as National Special Security Events. As part of the Secret Service’s mission of preventing an incident before it occurs, the agency relies on meticulous advance work and threat assessments developed by its Intelligence Division to identify potential risks to protectees. The Secret Service's initial responsibility was to investigate the counterfeiting of U.S. currency, which was rampant following the U.S. Civil War. The agency then evolved into the United States' first domestic intelligence and counterintelligence agency. Many of the agency's missions were later taken over by subsequent agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and IRS Criminal Investigation Division (IRS). #USA #SecretService #SpecialForces #Motivation

11 Survival Tips from a Former Secret Agent

11:36
A former secret agent is sharing his advice on how to get through any critical situation. It's always fascinating to see how easily CIA agents in movies can survive any extreme situation. Well, they’re even cooler and more resilient in real life. So even if you're the safest driver ever, it wouldn’t hurt to know what to do in case of an accident. When you’re driving, you should keep your hands at 9-and-3, not 10-and-2 as they used to say. Unfortunately, dog attacks are also quite common these days. A mixture of water and ammonia, using a can of pressurized air, like those sprayable air dusters for cleaning keyboards or pepper spray or another animal’s urine will save you. If you ever find yourself in a burning building, there's a chance that you'll need to knock the door down to escape or help others. The way you see it done in the movies couldn't be more wrong! Running towards it and throwing your whole body against it can leave you with a dislocated shoulder or even broken bones. In the moment, panic often takes over, but try to suppress it and follow some important rules. To protect yourself during a shooting, you need to find a good cover. If you’ve got a gun pointed at you, it's best to behave extremely carefully to minimize any possible risks of getting seriously hurt. If a serious explosion is about to go off, your actions should be quick and precise. Finding refuge is the most important thing. In case you get locked in the trunk of a car, you can try to open the trunk's lock latch. Another option is to try to escape through the folding back seat. If the snow on the ground is really thick and you see a couple of evergreen trees nearby, then you’ve found the perfect place to build yourself a refuge to wait out the storm and warm up a bit. Music: Barge Gunnar Olsen Sci-Fi Swamp Chase - Sir Cubworth TIMESTAMPS A car crash 0:46 A dog attack 1:50 Knocking the door down in case of fire 2:50 Barricading a door 3:37 A shooting 4:23 Being at gunpoint 5:19 An explosion 6:12 Being locked in the trunk of a car 6:50 If your hands and feet are tied together 7:37 Being in water with your hands and feet tied 8:21 Making a shelter in deep snow 9:11 Bonus: secret agent must-haves 10:10 SUMMARY -When you’re driving, you should keep your hands at 9-and-3, not 10-and-2 as they used to say. If you’re a passenger in the back seat, during a collision, put your hands on the back of your head, press your forehead against the seat in front of you, and keep your knees bent at a 90° angle. -A mixture of water and ammonia is one of the best ways to scare away aggressive dogs. The most effective choice is pepper spray or another animal’s urine. -A precise and powerful enough kick with your heel will knock out any lock. -You can put rubber doorstops all around the door’s crevices or do it like in the movies: just put a bunch of heavy objects in front of the door. -To protect yourself during a shooting, you need to find a good cover. Remember that things like clipboards and hardcover books can stop bullets, so you can use them as a bulletproof vest. -If somebody is pointing a gun at your back and has ordered you to walk ahead, raise your arms and slow down so that the gun is pressed right up against your back. Then, turn around quickly, bring one arm down so that it traps the gun under your armpit, and use your other arm to attack the gunman. -Finding refuge is the most important thing. Cross your legs, open your mouth, and cover your ears with your hands. -Find the emergency pull located on the inside of the trunk, and the trunk will pop open. -To free your legs, stand up straight and point your toes out to make a “V” with your feet. Then, jump up and as you land, spread your knees really fast. If your hands are tied behind your back, you need to get them in front of you. Once that's done, press them together tightly and then quickly pull them apart. -Don't panic, take deep breaths in and quick breaths out. If you're swimming on your belly, move by bending your knees, straightening them back again, and keeping your back arched so that your head stays above water. -Find the thickest evergreen tree with low hanging branches and dig a hole in the snow along the tree trunk. Then pack the snow on the “walls” of your hideaway as densely as you can. -Some of the most popular contents in special agents' bags include a key to handcuffs, a flashlight, a gun, a pen, a compass, a razor blade, a pocket knife, a mouthguard, and some lockpicks. Of course, we’re talking about the US Secret Service. These men and women have a serious job and they definitely look the part. Dressed in their black suits, their best-known job is to protect the POTUS. But there’s more to it than that. As you’ll see with these following 10 secrets, the Secret Service is about more than looking intimidating while wearing sunglasses. Ahead we’ll start you off by explaining the original purpose of the Secret Service. Spoiler alert – it didn’t actually involve protecting the President. From investigations to interrogations, we’ll take a look at some of the other jobs the Secret Service performs today. Ever wonder what would happen if most of the US government was wiped out? Well, the Secret Service plays a role in ensuring the continuity of the government and it involves the secret location of Mount Weather. Of course, all those men and women in suits need a place to hang out and we’ve found it on H Street in Washington D.C. We’ll also show you that the Secret Service isn’t all about taking a bullet either. No, they are prepared to perform all sorts of life-saving procedures on the President to ensure their chances of staying alive between the time of an incident and arrival at the nearest hospital. There’s also the fact that not all agents are human. That’s right, dogs do their part in the secret service and their training is just as rigorous as it is for their two-legged masters. Then there’s the proximity of the Secret Service to the President. As you’ll see, they are always nearby and sometimes it can be a little too close for comfort. Even in the safe confines of the White House, agents are on guard and that includes those stationed in the kitchen. They’re not just there to keep the chefs safe. We’ll show you how agents are forensic experts who can track down a threatening letter just by the type of ink it was written with. Finally, there’s the weaponry and equipment. We all know the Secret Service packs some firepower. However, the types of devices and weapons can be truly mind-boggling as it demonstrates they are ready for nearly any scenario. 15 Secrets the Secret Service Doesn't Want You to Know

12:11
15 Facts the Secret Service Agents Prefer to Keep Secret. They are always there at public events, accompany the President on his car or plane. However, most of us know nothing about the work of the secret service agents. Men and women in black who have got the President’s back. That's how we usually see the US Secret Service. They are always there at public events, accompany the President on his car or plane. Ironically enough, President Abraham Lincoln approved the formation of the Service on the day he was assassinated, April 14th in 1865. Its original key function was to fight counterfeiting, which was a huge problem at that time. Only after a few more Presidents were assassinated did the Congress decide to add protection of the President to their duties. There are some many facts about the Secret Service, which they like to keep secret. Even its name suggests it, you know. Looks like we are done with our list, but there is still a bonus secret we promised to share with you. We might imagine a Secret Service agent as a man or a woman in black with fancy gear on and weapons ready. It is true, but not entirely true. Secret Service agents can also be fluffy and have four legs. They are super fast, and their hearing and smelling abilities are amazing. Dogs became part of the Secret Service in 1975. Their training is ongoing, and they keep learning new tricks every day even after the 17 weeks of initial training they get. From biting brave and crazy people who jump over the fence to White House lawns up to bomb sniffing – their range of tasks is impressive, and their service is impeccable. TIMESTAMPS Their secret office is on H street in DC 1:14 They are always there for the President 2:00 They do not only protect the President 2:44 Their gear is fantastic 3:24 They have bags with President’s blood on them 4:05 They are trained to be food experts 4:38 They are also trained to be forensic experts 5:29 They take care of potential assassins 6:19 They work closely with hotels 6:55 They take videos of the President 7:31 They “work with the rope” and it takes them a lot of nerve 8:14 They have a secret hideaway place 8:50 They do not swear to die in the name of the President 9:34 They use fake bullets for training 10:05 They are not trained to carry bags 10:35 SUMMARY - A gray nine-story unmarked building in H street hosts armories, an operations center, and, of course, thousands of agents. Plus, a secret cafeteria (who knows, maybe they serve secret food in there). - While it’s obvious that Secret Service agents should be all around the president at public gatherings or when he is traveling, you might be surprised to know they accompany him inside the White House, when he goes out with old friends and even when he takes a visit to the doctor. - The vice-president, the first family, former presidents and their children till they turn sixteen, visiting heads of foreign states and their families are also under the protection of the Service. - Do you think stab resistant suits, night-vision goggles, submachine guns and shades are equipped with cameras which send footage to identify any potential threats are only real in spy movies? Well, it is secret service agents’ reality. - The best agents are trained to be able to save President’s life if they have to. Since he is never more than 10 minutes away from a hospital or trauma center, the agents have these 10 minutes to take emergency measures. - Even people who undergo a thorough screening process, of course, are carefully watched by our men in black. Their every step in the food preparation process is under control. Navy stewards accompany the President and take care of his meals while he is traveling. - No matter if you like the President or not, you should be careful when saying something aggressive or threatening, since Secret Service agents keep an eye out all the time. - It is the Secret Service’s task to define how real the threat is. They will go as far as interviewing potential assassin’s family, neighbors and co-workers do understand if the person is mentally unstable, overly emotional or a real potential threat. - Each hotel he is to stay at goes through serious examination. There will be background checks for hotel staff to work for the government guests. - John F. Kennedy assassination in 1963 taught the Secret Service a good lesson as to how important it is to keep footage of the President when he is out at public rallies or driving in his motorcade. The mysterious truths the Secret Service doesn't want you to know! These are the hidden details and untold facts behind one of the government's most cryptic organizations. From weight sensors in the Oval Office to their methods of tracing angry letter origins, today we look at What The Secret Service Doesn’t Want You To Know. #15 Never Infiltrated Perhaps rarely mentioned so as to not tempt anyone to try, the Secret Service has a leg up on most other federal agencies. They’ve never been infiltrated. That is to say, even though agencies like the CIA, FBI and NSA have had spies uncovered within their ranks, the Secret Service’s record remains traitor-free. The lifelong career path, high qualifications, and low-chance of actually working anywhere near the president are all possible reasons why no spy has successfully permeated the agency’s screening process. #14 Oval Office Pressure Pads When you become President of the United States of America, the weight of the nation and even the world can feel like it rests on your shoulders. But what about your weight? Well, if you’re in the Oval Office, it’s probably resting on a high-tech tracking system belonging to the Secret Service. Installed to help monitor the President’s safety while respecting private discussions and matters of extreme confidentiality, the pressure pads in the office of the Commander-In-Chief sit underneath the carpet. These measure the presidents weight and informs the agents of his specific location in the room at any given time! #13 Food Surveillance If you think the Secret Service watches over the President like a hawk, then you should see how they inspect his food. Whether on the road or safely at home, Secret Service agents are constantly in attendance during meal preparation. Small food carts or local restaurants are typically off limits as it can be impossible to guarantee the safety of the cooking when so much of the usual ingredients are pre-prepared. Pizza delivery is allowed, but they have it sent to a nearby address to disguise its recipient and lower any associated risks. But even a Christmas fruitcake from a loved one is restricted as every bit of the meal’s construction requires thorough supervision. When travelling, stewards from the Navy are brought onto the Presidential trip and exclusively cook all the meals.

History of the U.S. Secret Service

The agency symbolizes the power and importance of our nation’s highest office. Today, its taken for granted that stoic agents wearing suits and earpieces are constantly watching over our Commander-in-Chief, but the President wasn’t always this protected. This is the history of the U.S. Secret Service. During the Revolutionary War, General George Washington ordered a “Lifeguard” be formed to protect him, along with the money and official papers of the Continental Army. This is a passage from historian Ron Chernow’s biography on Washington: “…’To guard against assassination — which I neither expect nor dread — is impossible,’ Washington later wrote. But he knew that kidnapping attempts were always a possibility, especially since he himself would hatch a couple of failed schemes to kidnap British generals. His order to forge a personal guard — or “lifeguard” as it was commonly called — also sprang from a desire to be surrounded by a crack team of disciplined professionals who would accompany him whenever he rode out to review the troops. Protective of his historical reputation, Washington committed the care of his personal papers to this guard. Having such an elite corps at the beck and call of the chief general was a throwback to the glittering world of European armies.” The men assigned to the Commander-In-Chief’s Guard were honored to be trusted to protect their beloved general. For this reason, special care was taken to ensure the soldiers serving in the prestigious unit represented each of the 13 colonies. It was disbanded in 1783 at the conclusion of the war. In 1865, Abraham Lincoln resurrected Washington’s idea, creating an elite outfit of federal law enforcement officials to combat the counterfeiting of American dollars that had been rampant during the Civil War. One-third of all US currency in circulation was reportedly fake, so there was much work to be done to secure the integrity of the nation’s monetary system that powered the entire economy. Ironically, the legislation establishing the Secret Service was awaiting Lincoln’s signature on his desk the night he was assassinated—a strange coincidence, even if the agency wasn’t tasked with protecting the President for another 36 years. Fast-forward to a sweltering September afternoon in 1901. While greeting hundreds of people in a receiving line at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, President William McKinley was shot twice by an assassin who had used a handkerchief to conceal his weapon. McKinley eventually succumbed to his wounds and died eight days later. This finally forced Congress to act, legally mandating the Secret Service to protect the President. In a sign of the frequent obstinance of the US Congress, three Presidents — Lincoln, James A. Garfield, and McKinley — perished by assassins before America’s legislative body did something to address the glaring problem. In 1950, the only secret service agent ever killed while protecting a president died during an assassination attempt on Harry Truman. [Newsreel]: “Outside Blair House — the President’s temporary Washington home — extreme fanatics of the Puerto Rican nationalist party try to force their way in, guns blazing, to assassinate the President of the United States.” The assailants opened fire on agent Leslie Coffelt and other White House Police officers. Despite being mortally wounded, Coffelt returned fire and killed one of the attackers with a single shot. The darkest day in the history of Secret Service came on November 22, 1963 when President John F. Kennedy, riding through downtown Dallas in a convertible, was shot twice and killed. An investigation by the US House of Representatives eventually determined that “the Secret Service did not properly analyze information it possessed prior to the assassination and was inadequately prepared to protect the President.”...

Most Secretive Secrets of the Secret Service

10:31
Positions are available for those who may be willing to be apart of the presidential entourage but you gotta be sure that everything you do is kept secret! In case you didn’t know at least 16 out our 45 presidents have had assassination plots or attempts on their lives or have actually succeeded. That’s over 33 percent . Putting yourself in the line of danger on a daily basis might be too much for some to handle. But first we’d like to give a big shout out to goat white for leaving us this comment! We appreciate you apreciating us and we’re sure you’ll enjoy this video as well 15. Secret Personal Army The presidents won’t often let you know too much about their own personal army or the secret service you can call them. They were established towards the end of the civil war in 1865 by Abraham Lincoln, in order to prevent the distribution of forged currency. In modern times, they are basically special agents who are deployed to protect the first family, former presidents and their families, guarding them like a hawk. Some rumors out there claim they use the most high tech advanced body armor on the market known as Dragon Skin, which isn’t available to the public or even the military. There are more of them than you’d think too. 14. Fire Power As of right now the secret service deploys 3,200 special agents and an additional 1300 uniformed officers some which are uniformed. The president can decide exactly who he wants to deploy secret service protection too. They also get some high tech gear including the Heckler and Koch HK416, FN P90, and some 9mm Sig Pistols. Of course, that’s all the weapons we know about. The FN P90 can pack quite a bit of punch for it’s smaller and portable size and equipped with a stock, it’s much more accurate. It’s produced in belgiu and fires a new cartridge which is more shaped like a bullet fired from a rifle. Hollow Points are also used in order to reduce collateral damage. 13. Cartagena Scandals In 2012 the secret service caught themselves in a little scandalous behavior in Cartagena, Colombia when some disputes took place on payment for intimate services” from the women of the town. This was during a presidential business trip and who knows what else might have happened in colombia if obama’s right hand men are involved. The working girl wasn’t afraid to come forward about the event and many people from the hotel that night remember some rowdy behavior at the hotel Caraibes where they were staying. According to Daria Suarez, the high class one of the secret service members refused to pay up the equivalent of 800 dollars. Mark Sullivan, the now retired, was put on trial before congress. The whole thing was basically swept under the rug. 12. Personal Reassignment Knowing people who are secret service members would probably lead you to believe that you also have access to the kind of security that the president has but that’s not the case! Mark Sullivan, the guy we just mentioned from the caragena shenanigans, sent out secret service members for his female neighbors house after she believed that she was being harassed by someone. Since his neighbor isn’t the president, this makes it a crime to give her that level of personal protection but being the nice guy he is, he sent armed guards anyways. Let’s hope she wasn’t the one being surveilled instead! 11. No Sworn Oath You would assume that the the secret service is sworn to protect the president no matter if his life is in danger. You’d think that he’d probably throw himself in front of the president and take a bullet for him but that’s not the case. It’s understandable that they might put themselves into dangerous situations in order. It’s sorta like the supposed oath the president has to protect the security of americans or for cops to save civilians from life threatening situations. They don’t really have to but they should! 10. Security Lapse In 2014, an Iraqi War veteran, Omar J Gonzales, simply hopped the fence and entered the white house’s front door. He was carrying a small pocket blade and claimed he was just there to tell the president that, I quote,”the atmosphere was collapsing”. He claims that he never wanted to harm the president but trespassing is trespassing. He got 17 months in jail and was supervised for 3 years after his release. He won’t be allowed to possess firearms and was required to a complete psychological evaluation. We’re sure that didn’t involve any torture or anything. We’ll get into some more security lapses later on in the video.

I bought it 2 years ago for $3000 which was a pretty good deal considering my friends and I put over 50,000 miles on it in those 2 years. So when I began filming this video I had a cheap 4 door white car that ran pretty well. Id bought it for $800 and knew it was no prize but it was perfect for driving in a field for 5 minutes then getting blown to bits. Unfortunately one of the guys who works for me decided to take it for "a little spin" just before we were to film the videos last segment. He somehow managed to blow up the engine and I was left with 2 options: I could either scrap the video concept and pay for another day of filming which would be very costly. Or I could blow up the SUV which btw the guy who broke the original car had been driving for over a month. Unfortunately for him the decision was easy, we got his stuff out, through in 13lbs of explosives and a few gallons of fuel and said goodbye to the Montero.
