Old Fashion Cream Potatoes
The main focus of this video is to show how to make cream potatoes. The meal includes meatballs with gravy, steamed broccoli and carrots, cream potatoes, home made toasted rolls and ice tea. This meal took exactly 31 minutes to prepare because the meat course and the home made rolls were made days earlier then frozen for later use. Old Fashion Coconut Cream Pie
This is the old fashion version of coconut cream pie. I got this recipe from my Mother when I was in my 20's and had just started cooking. I use to make this pie about once a week, I loved it that much. Hope you'll try this recipe. Be sure to cook the filling long enough to cook the egg yolks thoroughly. the pie probably needs to sit in the refrigerator over night to ensure the filling is not runny when slicing. Old Fashioned Sugar Cream Pie
Despite it's name this is a light and delicious pie. The recipe is over 150 years old and hails from the state of Indiana. You'll really love this easy pie! Sugar Cream Pie 4- cups heavy cream 1- cup milk 1- cup dark brown sugar (packed) 1/4 tsp. salt 1- cup AP flour 2-3 Tblsp. vanilla extract 2 frozen 9" pie crusts, unbaked Mix all the above ingredients together well in a pourable container. Add 1/3 of a stick of softened but not quite room temperature butter (or 2-1/2 tblsp.) into the center of (2) 9" unbaked frozen pie crusts. Divide the batter between the 2 unbaked frozen pie crusts and liberally sprinkle sugar on top of each pie. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 40 to 60 minutes. It's done when a tester comes out clean and top is a golden brown. Let cool to room temperature before cutting. This pie must be refrigerated. Enjoy!! This makes (2) 9" pies. Cut the recipe in half to make just 1 pie. I had enough batter left over to make a small 6" pie but my pie shell was not deep dish.

Making Butter With Normal Heavy Whipping Cream The Old Fashioned Way
I wondered if you can make butter using normal, off the shelf heavy whipping cream and an old fashioned butter churn. So I found some cream on sale and got some. I put the entire half pint of heavy whipping cream into the butter churn and started to turn it. And turn it and turn it..... It took a long time for anything to happen at first. I know you can whip it with a hand mixer in a hurry but I wanted to do this the old fashioned way. So I kept turning and turning... After a long time it started to get all foamy. It was turning into whipped cream. Later it started to thicken up even more. It was getting exciting. Next it started to separate. It was a surprise to see that it first got solid and thick but then separated and got all runny again. The solid butter was forming into clumps while the buttermilk was separating out. With a few more turns I had my butter fully separated. I used a strainer over a bowl to pour off the buttermilk. This left the lumpy butter in the strainer. I gave it a wash to rinse off the excess butter milk. Then I formed it into a stick of butter with a knife. It is about a 3/4 stick of butter just like from the store. We did not salt this butter but that would have been easy enough if we wanted to. We can use this for baking or cooking. And that is how easy it is to make butter from off the shelf, store bought heavy whipping cream. Thanks for watching. Please Subscribe & follow my daily videos. 🔵 Old-Fashioned Sour Cream Doughnuts || Glen & Friends Cooking
Another Old Fashioned Cake Doughnut Recipe - but this one has a lighter texture thanks to the cake flour. Ingredients: 100g (½ cup) sugar 35 grams (2 Tbsp) butter, at room temperature 255g (2¼ cups) cake flour 7 mL (1½ tsp) baking powder 5 mL (1 tsp) salt 2 mL (½ tsp) ground nutmeg 2 large egg yolks 125 mL (½ cup) sour cream Canola oil, for frying Method: In a stand mixer cream together the sugar and butter. In a bowl, sift together the cake flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Add the egg yolks to the butter / sugar mixture in the stand mixer and mix until creamy. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and the sour cream to the stand mixer. The dough will be sticky, very sticky. Cover and chill for at least an hour, but up to overnight. Heat 2"-3" of oil in a heavy bottomed pot, to 325º - 340ºF On a floured surface, pat out the dough to about ½" thick. Use a doughnut cutter dipped in flour and cut out as many donuts as possible. Reform the dough as needed, pat it out and cut more. You may need to refrigerate the dough before reforming it. Fry the doughnuts 2-3 at a time, don't overcrowd the pot. Fry on each side about 2 minutes, until they are golden brown. Remove from pot and let drain on a rack. Coat in cinnamon sugar, or chocolate glaze. #LeGourmetTV #Doughnuts #LearnToCook Music By - Dj Quads: https://soundcloud.com/aka-dj-quads Le Gourmet TV is the #1 premium food and recipe channel on Youtube. The Best Milky Cream Wafer Bars (old fashioned recipe)
Homemade wafer bars with excellent taste. This cream is something special, it easily ends up in containers too comparing with the best store-bought milky cream! 😋 Check out my channel for more great recipes: https://goo.gl/MgrA7h Subscribe here and don't miss a video: https://goo.gl/sNRyb6 Ingredients: 2l and 250 ml of fresh milk (9.4 cups) 750 gr of sugar (3.8 cups) 2 tsp of Vanilla 150 - 250 gr of finely chopped walnuts (1.3 - 2.1 cups) Half package of wafer sheets * little bit of lemon juice • Optional 1 margarine (in that case you will have enough cream for the whole package of wafer sheets) For cooking this cream, use a bigger pot. I used a pot of 5 l. That will save you a lot of standing beside the stove. First, pour only 1l of milk (less than half) in the pot and measure with the spatula the level of the milk. Put the milk to boil and once it did, slowly add the rest of the milk. This way you will reach much faster the boiling point, than heating up the whole amount of cold milk at once. When the whole amount milk starts boiling, turn down the heat and cook on medium, frequently stirring. The milk should boil down to the previously measured line. Once the measured line is reached, add the sugar. Now it is very important to stir constantly since the sweet milk can burn down easily. When the cream reaches such consistency that the spatula is leaving a line behind it is almost done. Add the vanilla flavoring and the finely chopped walnuts and lemon juice if you wish. Remove from the heat and if you wish, add the margarine and stir until it completely combines with the cream. Fill the wafer sheets while the cream is still hot. As it starts to cool down it will stiff and it will be harder to spread it on the sheets. Cover the filled wafer sheets with a clean kitchen cloth and put something heavy on top to help the sheets stick properly. Cut the wafers into small bars. I usually cut them 2 squares wide and 5 squares long, diagonally. It is the best to leave overnight the wafers, then the flavors will set. The wafer bars will still be crunchy since there is not too much moisture in the cream itself. How to Make Ice Cream - The Victorian Way
Join our Victorian cook as she makes up a batch of a rather unusual (but delicious) ice cream flavour in the kitchens of Audley End House in Essex. Find out more here: http://ow.ly/RbtZB INGREDIENTS 1 large cucumber 120g sugar Half a pint of water Some ginger brandy A little green food colouring 2 lemons 1 pint sweetened cream METHOD Peel and de-seed the cucumber, then chop it and cook it until tender in the water and sugar. Whilst the cucumber is still warm, pound it to soften it a little, then add the green food colouring. You can then add the brandy and lemon juice. The brandy is optional. Sieve the mixture to remove any lumps, then add the sweetened cream. Place some ice into a large bowl, then cover the ice in salt. You can then place a smaller bowl on top, and add the cucumber mix inside. Keep stirring the mixture, turning the bowl at the same time. Keep this going until your ice cream mixture has thickened. You can then add your thick mixture to some moulds, or an ice cream tub and place it in the freezer. After a few hours your ice cream will be ready. CHECK OUT MY KITCHEN ITEM LINKS: http://www.collardvalleycooks.com/kitchen-item-links CVC encourages you to learn good cooking habits and methods that will make preparing a meal easy and enjoyable. Many methods called “Southern” or “Country” are used all over the US and the world. We want to preserve the unique methods and flavors that we grew up with in our part of the Southern US in the North Georgia and North Alabama area. Some general tips to make cooking more enjoyable and successful are to… 1.Read recipes through before cooking 2. Make sure you have the right ingredients 3. Make sure you have the right cooking tools (for example some recipes call for cast iron) 4. Cook ahead when possible (some things can be stored and used later like broth or browned ground beef) 5. Consider the time each meal will take to prepare 6. Consider the time each dish will take to prepare (some items can sit and be kept warm while others need to be served hot). 7. Study new techniques before you try them. Watch some video or read about them. 8. Taste while you cook, spices should never overwhelm the dish. Add a little at a time because once added they cannot be taken out! Practice makes perfect. Do not give up after one failure. Some techniques require repeated effort to master. 9. Think ahead when shopping for meals. Pay attention to what is on sale in your local grocery. 10. Learn which grocery stores in your area have the best meats or freshest vegetables and stay away from those that you know have lower quality. For cleanliness in the kitchen… 1. Keep a sink full of warm soapy water while you cook 2. Use clean dish rags and towels 3. Clean as you go 4. Deglaze pans for easier washing 5. Never pour grease or oil down the sink. Pour off in glass or plastic containers and dispose of it once cooled. Use a good cooking encyclopedia for terms that you see in recipes. I like the Fannie Farmer Cookbooks. The internet is a good source of information, but you need to make sure people know what they are doing on the videos you watch. Get more than one opinion when you search the internet or watch YouTube. I try to keep things in easy to understand terms when I cook or give recipes so there may be times when I use the incorrect term. I do try to always demonstrate and show the viewer what I mean when I demonstrate a recipe. I am not a trained chef but I am an experienced and successful home cook that learned from other family cooks that made wonderful traditional southern dishes using vegetables and meats the grew themselves. I continue to learn today. We enjoyed some old fashioned vanilla ice cream and country music at the Yamhill County Harvest Fest held at the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center in McMinnville, Oregon. The old fashioned ice cream was made with ice, cream, vanilla, and Sam the mule on old fashioned farm equipment. The Yamhill County Harvest Fest is an event that offers fun for the entire family including an old fashioned harvesting demonstration with antique vintage farm equipment and draft animals, a working blacksmith shop, vintage sawmill operations, stagecoach rides, steam engine displays, pioneer kids’ activities, old fashioned food, country music, vintage exhibits, vendors and more. Old Fashioned Shave Cream
Our Old-Fashioned Shave Cream is made to remind us that shaving is a skill passed down from generation to generation and as such, a thing of true value, like a good piece of advice. Fragrance; Unique aromas of old-school medicinal notes, bright, fresh citrus tones and a hint of Turkish barbershop at the back end evoke a sense of tradition and nostalgia that we think befitting of a gentleman's morning ritual. Mode of Use; We do recommend using a shave brush to create the perfect lather and give you the best shave. But it's not essential. A small dollop onto the palm of your hand can be worked up and applied just the same.  Three Important Things; 1) Natural Lanolin and Coconut formulation. Gentle natural ingredients that combine to product a super thin slick and soft gentle foam. 2) No Denatured Alcohol or Concentrated Menthols. Natural non irritant focused shave cream -- ideal for sensitive skin. 3) The best old school knowledge with the best of modern (Natural) science -- produces a super smooth and unbeatable close shave. http://triumphanddisaster.com/collections/all/products/old-fashioned-shave-cream http://triumphanddisaster.com/collections/all/products/old-fashioned-shave-cream-90ml-tube

Old Fashioned Thai Ice Cream
The old guy selling the ice cream never missed a day during the rice harvest, He went to every farm in the area, And I would say making more money than he wold with a real job. This ice cream is good, Better than most of the brand named stuff you get around here, But you need to be careful, There is a durian flavored one that spells like onions and taste like garbage, That one should be avoided.
