Some of the special features of Oracle Linux include a custom build and rigorously tested Linux kernel called Oracle Unbreakable Kernel, tight integration with Oracle's hardware and software products including most database applications, and zero downtime patching feature that enables administrators to update the kernel without a reboot. Oracle Linux 7 Update 4 is an updated build of the enterprise-class Linux distribution built from the source code for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4 but featuring its own unbreakable kernel. Oracle Linux 7 Update 4 continues to enhance your security stance with several new capabilities. UEFI Secure Boot is a system in Secure Boot mode loads only those boot loaders and kernels that have been signed by Oracle. Oracle has updated the kernel and GRUB 2 packages to sign them with a valid Extended Validation (EV) certificate. Oracle Linux 7 offers the latest innovations and improvements to support customers and partners in developing and deploying business critical applications across the data center and into the cloud. In-place upgrades from Oracle Linux 6.5 to Oracle Linux 7 is supported. Oracle Linux Website: https://www.oracle.com/linux/index.html Download Oracle Linux Server 7.4 ISO: https://community.oracle.com/docs/DOC-917963 Oracle Linux Server 7 Minimum System Requirements You can install Oracle Linux 7 on x86-64 systems with up to 2048 logical CPUs and 64 TB of memory. The theoretical upper limit is 5120 logical CPUs and 64 TB of memory, but Oracle has not tested this configuration. A minimum of 2 logical CPUs and 1 GB of memory per logical CPU is recommended. Although the minimum disk space required for installation is 1GB, a minimum of 5 GB is recommended. Hope you found it informative and useful. Any questions or comments are welcomed. How to install windows server 2012 in Virtual Box

08:29
Windows Server 2012, codenamed "Windows Server 8", is the sixth release of Windows Server. It is the server version of Windows 8 and succeeds Windows Server 2008 R2. Two pre-release versions, a developer preview and a beta version, were released during development. The software was generally available to customers starting on September 4, 2012. Unlike its predecessor, Windows Server 2012 has no support for Itanium-based computers, and has four editions. Various features were added or improved over Windows Server 2008 R2 (with many placing an emphasis on cloud computing), such as an updated version of Hyper-V, an IP address management role, a new version of Windows Task Manager, and ReFS, a new file system. Windows Server 2012 received generally good reviews in spite of having included the same controversial Metro-based user interface seen in Windows 8. The successor to Windows Server 2012, called Windows Server 2012 R2, was released along with Windows 8.1 in October 2013. A service pack, formally designated Windows Server 2012 R2 Update, was released in April 2014. Windows Server 2012 R2 was released on October 18, 2013. It was unveiled on June 3, 2013 at TechEd North America.According to Windows Server 2012 R2 datasheet published on May 31, 2013, there are four editions of this operating system: Foundation, Essentials, Standard and Datacenter. As with Windows Server 2012, the Datacenter and Standard editions are feature identical, varying only based on licensing (particularly licensing of virtual instances). The Essentials edition has the same features as the Datacenter and Standard products, with some restrictions. Partner Webcast - Oracle Virtual Assembly Builder with Oracle VM 3.2 - 20 Feb 2014

01:04:31
ECEMEA Partner Hub Migration Center http://blogs.oracle.com/imc Increased operating costs, inefficient hardware utilization and rapidly expanding data centers have made virtualization the most compelling IT technology in years. Virtualizationfor desktop and server environments has evolved to finally deliver on its promise to lower operating costs by increasing the utilization of hardware and reducing the overall amount of hardware required. While virtualization has solved a multitude of problems, it is still difficult to deploy and manage complex applications made up of multiple tiers and components. Furthermore, virtualization is quickly becoming a commodity and the focus now shifts to directly virtualizing applications to reap the next level of benefits associated with virtualization. Oracle Virtual Assembly Builder (OVAB) is a tool for virtualizing installed Oracle components, modifying those components, and then deploying them into your own environment. Oracle VM Manager 3.3 managing Oracle VM Server for SPARC

11:27
This is a video produced by Jeff Savit - Senior Principal Product Manager at Oracle. The new release of Oracle VM Manager 3.3 has significantly mproved SPARC virtualization management and availability: Additional storage types such as Fibre Channel, iSCSI, ZFS volume, and local disk, in addition to NFS, can now be directly assigned to virtual machines running in a SPARC server pool managed by Oracle VM Manager, offering customers more choices when choosing storage with Oracle VM Server for SPARC. Furthermore, virtual machine high availability and support for configuration of redundant I/O service domains improve system availability for business-critical operations.

VMware ESXi 6.5 Installation + Overview on Oracle VirtualBox [2017]

08:35
This video tutorial shows VMware ESXi 6.5 installation and overview on Oracle VirtualBox step by step. This tutorial is also helpful to install VMware ESXi 6.5 on physical computer or bare-metal server hardware. Steps: 1- Create Virtual Machine on Oracle VirtualBox 2- Start VMware ESXi 6.5 Installation 3- ESXi 6.5 Initial Configuration 4- VMware ESXi 6.5 Overview Slackware 14.2 New Features and Improvements VMware ESXi is the industry-leading, purpose-built bare-metal hypervisor. ESXi installs directly onto your physical server enabling it to be partitioned into multiple logical servers referred to as virtual machines. The ESXi bare-metal hypervisor’s management functionality is built into the VMkernel, reducing the footprint to 150 MB. Fewer patches mean smaller maintenance windows and fewer scheduled maintenance windows. vSphere ESXi 6.5 adds support for NSX 6.3.0. VMware ESXi Website: https://www.vmware.com/products/esxi-and-esx.html VMware ESXi 6.5 Minimum Hardware and System Requirements To install or upgrade ESXi, your hardware and system resources must meet the following requirements: - Supported server platform. For a list of supported platforms, see the VMware Compatibility Guide at http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility. - ESXi 6.5 requires a host machine with at least two CPU cores. - ESXi 6.5 supports 64-bit x86 processors released after September 2006. This includes a broad range of multi-core processors. For a complete list of supported processors, see the VMware compatibility guide. - ESXi 6.5 requires the NX/XD bit to be enabled for the CPU in the BIOS. - ESXi 6.5 requires a minimum of 4 GB of physical RAM. It is recommended to provide at least 8 GB of RAM to run virtual machines in typical production environments. - To support 64-bit virtual machines, support for hardware virtualization (Intel VT-x or AMD RVI) must be enabled on x64 CPUs. - One or more Gigabit or faster Ethernet controllers. For a list of supported network adapter models, see the VMware Compatibility Guide. - SCSI disk or a local, non-network, RAID LUN with unpartitioned space for the virtual machines. - For Serial ATA (SATA), a disk connected through supported SAS controllers or supported on-board SATA controllers. SATA disks are considered remote, not local. Hope you found it informative and useful. Any questions or comments are welcomed.
