Montessori School Education
To help us to make more such videos, visit http://www.patreon.com/sprouts Montessori Education is based on the principles developed by Maria Montessori, who opened her first school for children of low-income workers in an apartment building in Rome in 1907. The school was called “Casa dei Bambini”, Home for Children. This first “Casa” was furnished with a teachers table, a stove, a blackboard, some chairs, group tables for the children and a cabinet filled with materials that Montessori developed in her earlier career when she researched how to teach kids who experience some form of mental disability. Maria Montessori created the materials after she realised that students seem to understand complex concepts better when they engaged all their senses. Activities at this first school included personal care (such as dressing and undressing), care of the environment like sweeping, dusting and gardening. Otherwise they were free to move around and play with the materials. Montessori did not teach herself but instead oversaw the classroom work of her teachers. Montessori observed that children showed episodes of deep concentration and multiple repetitions of the same activity. Given free choice, kids showed more interest in practical activities and the materials than normal toys, sweets or other rewards. Over time spontaneous self-discipline emerged. Montessori concluded that working independently children seemed to reach new levels of autonomy and become self-motivated learners. She began to see the role of the teacher as a facilitator of young human beings who are free to move and act within the limits of a prepared environment. The goal: to grow children to become independent and responsible adults who share a love for learning. Soon after Montessori herself and her ideas started travelling the world to inspired progressive thinkers and educators from all over. The inventors, Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Edison, became early advocates. Later alumni include Jimmy Wales from Wikipedia, author Gabriel Garcia Marquez as well as the two Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Today the term “Montessori” stands more for a method, than a school itself. The fact that it can be used freely by anyone led to a great variation of schools. Educators all over the world borrow Montessori's name, insights and materials to organize kindergartens, elementary schools, special needs programs, or even full 12 year curriculums. Some parents use it for homeschooling. The following characteristics are shared among most programs: - Students are free to choose what to learn - Open classrooms that allow free movement - Use of specialised Montessori materials - Mixed age classes (from 0-3, 3-6 or 6-12) so children can learn from each other - Uninterrupted blocks of study time, usually three hours - No grading or homework - and a trained teacher Maria Montessori once famously said: “Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed.”What are your thoughts on Montessori? What are the Aims & Principles of Educational System in Buddhism Information Video
What are the Aims & Principles of Educational System in Buddhism Info Video. Buddhist Education offered to impart education to all. Many people shifted to Buddhist system of education. It was for the first time in India that education was institutionalized on a large scale during Buddhist movement. It is also a historical fact that with the arrival of Buddhist era great international centres of education like Nalanda, Takshashila, Vikramshila, Ballabhi, Odantapuri, Nadia, Amravati, Nagahalla and Saranath were in prominence. Educational centres in Buddha period developed in Viharas and Sanghas. To follow the moral values of Buddhist religion. To adopt good conduct and violence. To achieve the final goal of Nirvana. To propagate Buddhism. To eradicate Vedic karmakanda or ritualism. Avidya that is ignorance must be removed through education as it is the root cause of all sufferings. Education should be provided in peaceful surroundings in Buddhists monastries, viharas and organized educational institutions instead of Gurukulas.Pupils should be educated in a democratic atmosphere. Things of luxury must be prohibited for students. ....... Our Mantra: Information is Opportunity. Knowledge is Power. Be Informed - Be Powerful! This is a video lecture on the topic of "HEALTH EDUCATION & COMMUNICATION" from the PARK TEXTBOOK of COMMUNITY MEDICINE. Hi............welcome to abmbbs.........today's topic is “Health Education & Communication”.....This video is based on the “ COMMUNICATION for HEALTH EDUCATION” chapter from the PARK textbook of Community Medicine........ so.....what is communication??....Communication is a 2 way process of exchanging ideas between 2 people.......this... is the communication process....the sender.....sends the message....via the channel ...to the receiver......the receiver can also send a feedback to the sender...then what is this channel thing?.....channels of communication are the media of communication between 2 individuals.... so.. what are the different channels of communication?.....1st is INTERPERSONAL communication.....it basically means talking face to face...it is the most common means of communication & is the most persuasive..... 2nd is MASS communication....like TV....radio...print media....it can reach a large population in a short time...but..is not much effective in changing established modes of behaviour.... Finally there's the FOLK media....these are traditional folk dances & songs that are common in the rural areas.....its called by different names in different parts of India....like NAUTANKI in Uttar Pradesh....BURRAKATHA in Andhra Pradesh & HARIKATHA in Western India..... What are the types of Communication ??....it can be 1 way or DIDACTIC.....or....it can be 2 way or SOCRATIC.....in 1 way communication... there's less participation from the audience & there's no mechanism of feedback....so its less effective in changing established behaviour....2 way communication is much better in this regard... What are the BARRIERS of Communication?? ….it can be Psychological Barrier...like when someone is sad....it can be Physiological Barrier.....like when someone is deaf.....it can be Environmental Barrier....like when there's too much noise in the surrounding...Finally there are Cultural Barriers....like when a person is illiterate.... This brings us to the end of the Communication part of the chapter....now we come to Health Education... ….so...what are the different approaches to Health Education?...1st is the REGULATORY approach....in which people are forced to act in a certain way by making laws.....it is the fastest way to bring about any change …..but.... it can be disastrous if people do not like it...particularly in a democracy like India....typical example was the Sterilization Campaign of 1976 which resulted in the defeat of the congress in the 1977 elections... Next is the SERVICE Approach.....in this approach all the necessary services are given to the people at their door step..... & ...it is asssumed that people will use them on their own......but this approach failed too …..because it was not based on the felt-needs of the people....People will not use a product unless they feel they need it....even if they are given free....typical example is the WATER SEAL Latrines.....people in the rural areas did not use it even when they were provided free by the government..... Next there's the Health Education Approach...in which its believed that people will take care of themselves if they know whats good & whats bad for them....this approach has met with some success in the west where the literacy levels are higher....but in India ,its useless.... Finally there's the Primary Health Care Approach....I have discussed it in detail in another video....the link is available here......

Waldorf Education: The 7 Core Principles
This video presentation by Waldorf teacher Peter Lawton utilizes simple drawings and diagrams to illustrate Waldorf's holistic and developmental educational approach. While the video addresses curriculum and methodology indirectly, the focus is philosophical. Employing simple, everyday language, the presentation explores some of Waldorf's most important shared principles, underlying beliefs, and starting assumptions. The video explores core principles underlying Waldorf education as defined by the Pedagogical Section of the Anthroposophical Society in America. The seven core principles pertain to Waldorf's image of the human being, phases of child development, developmentally appropriate curricula, and the importance of freedom in teaching, relationships in the learning process, and the spiritual orientation of the teacher. The video concludes with an exploration of modern, materialistic world views and their negative effects on education in general.

LET Reviewer 2019: Professional Education | PRINCIPLES AND THEORIES OF LEARNING Part 1
LIST OF ADVANTAGES OF AUDITORY LEARNING 1. Allows for Multi-Tasking Proponents of this learning style claim that learning by ear allows an individual to be versatile when it comes to accomplishing several tasks. This is because by merely listening to audio recordings, one can process information without having to use the eyes or hands. That said, a person can do other things while studying. These can be driving, cooking, painting and cleaning, among others. This makes this learning style effective for people who have to engage in other activities during the process. Consequently, more things will be done in a little time. 2. Increased Retention People who advocate for auditory learning posit that a good listener has the ability to process information through hearing information and eventually retains it. By playing audio recordings repeatedly wherever the location may be, there is an increased possibility of improved retention in the memory bank. ****************************************************************************************************** If you like this videos please don't forget to give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel for more updates. social group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LETRe... website: https://letreviewer101.wixsite.com/we... Principles for Enhancing Legal Education
Visit the Institute for Law Teaching and Learning website at http://lawteaching.org for more resources that will help improve the quality of teaching and learning in legal education. Click SHOW MORE to learn about this video. What can faculty and students do to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in law school? What principles define good pedagogical practice in legal education? How can principles of good practice be implemented in the law classroom? These critical questions are the subject of this 29 minute, 23 second video and written materials. This resource was created for the Institute for Law School Teaching in 2001 by Gerry Hess (Gonzaga), Paula Lustbader (Seattle University), and Laurie Zimet (Hastings). Interest in and literature about how to improve law school pedagogy have been increasing, especially given the changing demographics of law students. These written materials and the video were created to provoke reflection and generate discussion about how faculty and teaching methods affect today's students and their learning. The accompanying written materials can be downloaded at: http://lawteaching.org/publications/videos/principlesforenhancing.php The video features comments from students at seven law schools (Brooklyn, Gonzaga, Hastings, Iowa, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Seattle University). These schools were selected to provide a cross-section (geographic, public/private, demographic, size) of experiences in legal education. A coordinator from each institution selected students who varied in age, ethnicity, gender, learning styles, physical and learning disabilities, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, year in school, and class rank. All of the students were asked to respond to the following questions: - What occurred in the classroom that interfered with your ability to learn? - What occurred in the classroom that enhanced your learning? The students' comments reflect a set of principles of good practice for contemporary higher education. The video and written materials apply the principles to legal education, explore their implications, and describe practical methods to implement them in the law school classroom. The principles, which are not ranked in order of importance, establish that effective learning environments: - Promote student-faculty contact; - Articulate clear, high expectations; - Use time effectively; - Respect differences among students; - Foster cooperation; - Provide prompt feedback; and - Encourage active learning. Principles for Enhancing Legal Education and the accompanying materials were produced in 2001 and copyright by Gerald Hess, Paula Lustbader, and Laurie Zimet.
