10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures

09:30
From Nemo, the clownfish, to the beautiful and elusive Blue Sea Slug, these are 19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures ! 8. Blue Tang -- Undersea creatures seem to look really cool in blue … and this one is no exception. The Blue Tang shows off some amazing blue coloration complemented by bold black markings. It almost sounds like a fashion shows, right? These fish are usually found in Indo-Pacific waters and are actually bright yellow when they’re younger. The blue and black colors show up at their final phase of development. 7. Coral -- Is that a brain at the bottom of the ocean? No … but it is a brain coral … and just an example of the wide ranging variety of living coral and coral reefs, some of which are thought to have started growing over 50 million years ago. Contrary to some beliefs, coral are animals, not plants … they’re actually related to anemones and jellyfish. The reefs formed by coral provide housing for thousands of marine species, giving them a place to find food, reproduce, and keep them safe until they’re mature enough to venture into the deeper ocean. Did you know coral reef plants and animals have proven important to the development of new medicines to treat cancer, Alzheimer's and heart disease? But even with all those advantages, human activity is threatening almost 60 percent of the world’s coral reefs. 6. Flower Hat Jellyfish -- This rare species of jellyfish is a rare species usually found in the waters of southern japan, Argentina and Brazil. It can grow to a half-foot in diameter, and is easily recognizable by its translucent bell, which is pinstriped with opaque bands. Those coiling tentacles adhere to the rim while not in use. Like many pretty looking things, this jelly carries a sting … but even though it’s painful, it’s non-lethal to humans … the worst you’d get is a rash. 5. Blue Sea Slug -- We couldn’t find a lot of information on this critter. From what we’ve seen, it’s often identified as a Blue Sea Slug … but that sounds like a pedestrian name for such a colorful creature. You can see the brilliant blue coloration in this photo … the animal almost looks like an alien life form with the two antennae sticking up. We’re guessing it might be a Nudibranch (new-di-brank). Those mollusks are noted for their striking colors, and there are more than 2,300 validated species scattered about the world. Can you confirm that? Let us know in the comments! 4. Mantis Shrimp -- They’re one of the most colorful forms of marine life, but don’t be fooled. They’re also known as ferocious undersea predators that possess, pound for pound, one of the most powerful punches on the planet. Punching with speed equal to a .22 caliber bullet, the Mantis Shrimp has not only broken shells of its prey … it’s also broken through aquarium glass. Punching at that velocity makes water vaporize and explode with a sharp bang, a flash of light and extremely high heat, all of which is felt by the victim as an additional blast. Not bad for an animal that averages less than four inches long. 3. Juvenile Emperor Angelfish -- Their coloration will change with age … but while they’re young, they exhibit these amazing displays of swirling dark blue, white and electric blue. It almost look hypnotic, right? Well, the fish keeps these distinct patterns until it reaches maturity, which usually takes around 4 years. Then the fish develops blue and yellow stripes, and black shading around its eyes. 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiprioninae Clownfish -- Did you recognize them from “Finding Nemo”? Known as one of the most brightly colored fish in the world, their bodies have distinctive white striping with colors that can vary from red, orange or yellow. They’re also known as anemone fishes, because of their mutually beneficial relationship with sea anemones. The toxic tentacles of the anemones protect clownfish from predators. And the fast movement of the fishes helps anemones find food and increase circulation. 1. The Mandarinfish -- Also known as the “Mandarin Dragonet” it swims in the Pacific reefs … but it’s less than 3 inches long so it can be difficult to see in the wild. As you might guess, this fish is highly sought after in the aquarium trade … but they’re considered extremely difficult to their strict eating habits. Some people think the Mandarinfish might be the most beautiful fish in the world … would you agree? to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife

BADASS Ocean Creatures That EAT Land Animals!

Killifish It may not be too far a stretch to call the Killifish one of the most unique and interesting fish in the world. That's because this is a fish that only lives for about a year, and it uses its body as a missile in order to get food. However, one of the most shocking and surprising things about it, is that it can live on land for a week despite being a fish!! 8. European Wels Catfish The Wels Catfish is one of the world’s largest freshwater fish. This giant fish is native to Eastern Europe but can now be found all over thanks to fishermen who wanted to be able to fish them for sport in Spain and Italy. These fish can get up to 15 feet long and weigh anywhere from 300 to 600 pounds!! 7. Silver Arowana In South America, there is a fish known as the Silver Arowana, and it's known to be quite a vicious predator. It has a leaping ability that is so good that they are able to jump out of the water in order to catch birds, insects, and even grab low-hanging snakes. Just as important though is that they do it with such speed and accuracy that their prey doesn't have time to react, ensuring that they get their meal. 6. Eel Catfish The Eel Catfish is another unique fish that has developed the ability to move onto land!! This fish is found in the muddy swamps of western Africa can grow 12-16 in long (30-40cm). What’s weird about them is that they love to eat beetles which are found on land! The fish has to be hungry enough to want to go through the effort but when it does, it propels itself onto the shore, raises up the front part of its body, and lunges at it with its jaws wide so it can bite down on the beetle. 5. Giant Trevally When BBC was filming their special "Blue Planet II", they were given a tip that there were fish eating birds off of the coast of the Seychelles. The fish that was doing this was one that had not been documented before as ever eating birds! The Giant Trevally fish. 4. Rainbow Trout When it comes to the Rainbow Trout, it already had a reputation for being an extraordinary fish. Mainly because of its fighting spirit and the ability it has to leap out of the water, but when a research team caught a very special Rainbow Trout on camera, they were shocked!! Inside the Rainbow Trout were about 20 shrews. 3. Sharks Sharks are one of the top predators in the ocean, and so you might think that they wouldn't even need to feast on land animals or birds in order to feed their hunger. But the fact of the matter is, when a shark is hungry, they are not going to be picky!! They're known for eating seals, sea lions, and other creatures that hover between land and sea, and for certain species like Tiger Sharks, they're perfectly fine with catching birds right out of the air. 2. Archer Fish When it comes to a creature of the water getting a creature on the land, or in the air, they usually have to develop a special technique. The Archer Fish preys on bugs and other small creatures that hover too close to the water. And with the Archer Fish, they have arguably gotten the most unique, and potentially epic, adaptation of all: the ability to shoot water like a bullet. 1. Orcas While Orcas are not fish, I had to include them on this list because they are very impressive apex predators!! These guys are known as Killer Whales for a reason and they have earned that title by killing creatures both in the water and on land. Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!

15 FASTEST Animals in the Ocean

07:50
From the elusive mahi mahi, to the fast black marlin, these are the 15 FASTEST animals in the ocean Orca Whale -- also known as a Killer Whale, Orcas aren’t whales at all. They’re more closely related to dolphins. They’re found in oceans worldwide but seem to prefer the colder waters of the North Atlantic and Antarctica. Orcas have been clocked at speeds up to 30 mph, though they turn on an additional burst of speed when chasing certain prey. They have only one predator, and that’s humans. Swordfish -- This aptly named fish are known for their sword like bills. That, along with their streamlined shape, allows them to easily cut through the water. they can and can thrust and parry with the best of them. When leaping, they’ve been observed to reach 60 mph. Did you know The size of swordfish eyes can be the size of a softball? In 2012 one of those eyes washed up on a Florida beach and created a big mystery as to what kind of creature it belonged to. Ever wonder if maybe one swordfish poked out the eye of another swordfish? Pilot Whale -- These mammoth marine animals can weigh as much as 3 tons and males can reach up to 25 feet long. They tend to favor deep waters and are known to be intelligent and highly social, often forming in groups of 100. These whales are known for their deep diving ability, and prey on large squids. They’ve been clocked at 47 mph when leaping. Wahoo -- This fish is known for its great strength and speed, having been observed to attain speeds from 48 to 60 mph! No surprise it’s one of the fastest of all known fish. Their speed is enhanced by bladelike fins that allow it to slice through the water. They’re recognized for their aggression and for their teeth, which are razor-sharp. They’re known as excellent gaming fish and for their excellent taste when cooked. Yellowfin Tuna -- This species of Tuna can reach speeds up to 50 mph. Did you ever think a Tuna could swim that fast ... even Charlie Tuna? They have some heft, too weighing up to 440 pounds and measuring up to 8 feet in length. The Yellowfin Tuna is also known as one of the fastest and strongest predators in the open ocean. Sailfish -- With speeds up to 68 mph, the Sailfish ranks as one of the fastest marine animals. To be fair, that speed includes the Sailfish leaping into the air. It moves faster while leaping than it does while swimming. They’re recognized by their blue-gray coloring, and for their elongated, needlelike bill. Their name comes from the erectile dorsal fin that looks like a sail. At some 220 pounds and measuring 10 feet long, these creatures are pretty much built for speed. Did you know that if the Sailfish swam a 200-meter race, it would clock a time under 10 seconds! Michael Phelps is an Olympic gold medal swimmer and his best time was about 1.42 minutes, which works out to 4.7 mph. That would leave a lot of human swimmers all wet! Marlin -- This species of Marlin is found in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The largest marlins have measured over 15 feet long and weighed over 1600 pounds. They’ve been clocked at speeds of up to 80 mph which would make them one of fastest of all fish. Bear in mind, that speed is an estimate, and refers to the speed with which hooked marlins can unwind fishing line. More often than not, the Marlins speed is estimated at 50 mph. They’re also a highly sought after game fish and are fished commercially. Atlantic Bluefin Tuna -- You thought the Yellowfin Tuna was big? Meet its cousin … this species of tuna can reach a massive size of 1500 pounds and measure up to 15 feet long … that’s some tuna. But despite its impressive size, this fish can reach speeds up to 45 mph! It turns on the jets when pursuing prey like red crab or anchovies … or escaping from fishermen who want to turn it into lunch! Humans -- Okay, so humans aren’t sea creatures. But we’re throwing in our noble species for the sake of perspective. How do humans rank against some of the fastest sea creatures in the world. Short answer: Not good. Even our fastest swimmers can manage a mere 5 miles per hour. So, obviously, humans will not rank anywhere amongst the fastest things in the ocean. But let’s not feel too bad … After all, humans are still faster than the Dwarf Seahorse. That slowpoke can only manage 0.01 mph … so, hey ... feel good about that! Mahi-Mahi or Dolphin Fish -- One of the most visually arresting fish in the sea, the Mahi Mahi Bears unique metallic green and blue colors with black, blue, or green spots. Its forked tail and sleek body allow it to reach speeds up to 40 mph. Did you know the name Mahi Mahi means ‘very strong’ in Hawaiian. ENDANGERED Marine Animals

10:29
The saying goes that there are plenty of fish in the sea, but...are there? The world’s oceans, rivers, and other waters are home to an incredible array of animals. But for many reasons, those animals are beginning to dwindle. Here are some amazing animals that are either vulnerable or already endangered. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 5. False Killer Whale True killer whales are not whales at all--they are the largest dolphin on earth. The false killer whale, shown here, is the fourth largest dolphin. They can weigh around 1500 pounds and reach up to 20 feet in length--that’s 680 kg and 6m long. The population around Hawaii is estimated to have only 123 members left, 46 of whom are able to mate. This genetic pool is so small that they will eventually go extinct due to inbreeding. Abroad, there may be as few as 480 false killer whales alive in the wild. Their biggest threat is commercial fishing. They feed on mahi mahi and other fish that are commercially caught, so the false killer whale is often tangled in fishing nets by accident. 4. Giant Clam Giant clams are harvested often as a food source, but even more often because they are so beautiful. Their shells are very impressive and there is a huge illegal trade in them. Their shells are often used as jewelry, dishes, and even sinks since the shells can grow to be 120cm across. But they don’t belong in houses, giant clams belong in the wild. As larvae, they are mobile. Then they find a spot to spend the rest of their lives--which can be a long, long time. Up to 100 years or more, in fact. Giant clams, again, are highly prized as a food source because they are so large. One giant clam measured 137cm across and weighed 250 kg--that’s over four feet and 550 pounds. Reproduction for giant clams is difficult because they are immobile--so it takes some luck to produce more giant clams. The best way to protect these creatures is to remove the market for their shells. Appreciate them in the ocean, not in your home. 3. Finless Porpoise The finless porpoise is so called because it lacks a true dorsal fin. Instead, it has a long ridge down its entire back. They are relatively small, growing only to 1.5 meters or 5 feet in length and weighing only around 100 pounds or 45 kg. They live primarily in the Yangtze river, which they shared with the baiji dolphin. In 2006, the baiji dolphin went extinct officially. Like the baiji dolphin, the finless dolphin is suffering from its proximity to human beings. Its food source is being depleted, like the baiji dolphin. The population is dwindling also due to boat injuries and water pollution. 2. Vaquita Porpoise The name “vaquita” is Spanish for “little cow,” a name likely given to them due to their interesting color patterns. They are light, with patches of grey, particularly around their eyes, nose, and down their fins. The vaquita is a tiny porpoise, measuring only up to five feet long and weighing only 120 pounds. They were first discovered in 1958 and in less than 50 years, their population has dwindled to approximately 30 individuals, making them the most endangered marine mammal in the world. They share waters with the highly sought after totoaba, a fish whose bladder is considered a delicacy in asian countries and has been fished illegally for years. This is the main threat to their population, because they are continually drowning in nets meant for totoaba. Today, conservation efforts might be too little, too late as officials in Mexico attempt to set up a breeding sanctuary for the remaining porpoises. Hammerhead Shark The hammerhead shark, aside from the Great White, is probably the most recognizable of the carnivorous fish. There are actually nine species of hammerhead sharks, but it is the Great Hammerhead we’re discussing today. They can reach lengths of 6 meters, that’s nearly 20 feet, and weigh 450 kg or 990 pounds. Their bodies are designed for being a top predator and their interesting head shape, for which they are named, gives them 360-degree visibility. In the wild, hammerhead sharks can live for half a century or more. But few make it that far. They are often fished illegally for their fins. “Finning” is an unethical practice, during which fishermen strip sharks of their coveted dorsal fin and toss the rest of the shark back into the water. If they aren’t caught intentionally, hammerhead sharks will also fall victim to large fishing nets and will drown. This is called bycatch and as we’ve said so far, it’s a threat to many different species.

Wild Animals in Water - Close Encounters

04:19
These are some close encounters with wild animals out at sea. Watch Hippos, whales and sharks attacking or just saying “Hi”, ether way it makes for some awesome footage! A wild hippopotamus can weigh up to 3 tonnes and have been known to move at speeds well over 40 kilometres per hour for short bursts, if a hippopotamus is chasing you and wants to make a meal out of you it is not often possible to out run these mammoth beasts, see what it looks like when Angry Hippo is charging boat on the chobe river in Botswana See a great white shark off the coast of Mossel Bay in South Africa as it attacks an inflatable boat, an inflatable boat would be easily ruptured by a great white shark and in this clip it is. All those aboard were lucky to make it back to the shore in one piece, thanks to in no small part to the expertise of the tour operators in South Africa. Fishing in shark infested waters on a kayak when a shark can be seen breaching the water just a few meters away from the fisherman Isaac Brumaghim, a heart racing moment. In the moment when a scuba diver off Souza Rock on the Central California Coast Divers have a close call with Humpback Whale that almost swallows him whole as it breaches the surface to feed on a school of fish that he had been filming underwater a moment before. Killer whale chasing speed boat, the whale in this clip is most likely teaching its young how to hunt for prey in the surf, and the wake from the passing speed boat creates the ideal conditions for this practice run. If there was any motivation to be in a boat rather than in the water swimming the clips in this video are it! 7 Most Giant Sea Creatures You've Ever Seen

09:46
What are the biggest creatures in the world? If you wanna find the true giants of this planet, you’ll need to head into the ocean. Without the force of gravity pulling them down, marine animals can reach unimaginable sizes. TIMESTAMPS: The Giant Clam 1:37 The Giant Spider Crab 2:41 The Great White Shark 3:45 The Whale Shark 4:52 The Fin Whale 5:49 The Lion’s Mane Jellyfish 6:39 The Blue Whale 7:53 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - Giant Clams are the largest mollusks in the world. They can grow around 4 feet in length and weigh more than 440 pounds. - The giant spider crab lives in the waters near Japan. Their legs reach about 11.5 feet from claw to claw and the body can be around 14.5 inches in diameter, which is pretty small compared to their long long limbs. - The great white gets its name from its distinct white belly under its grey body. As for the “great” part, that’s simply because some of them can grow over 20 feet long! As for your average great white shark, it’s usually about 15 feet in length, making it the largest predatory fish in the world. - The whale sharks are covered in white spots that have a unique design for each individual shark. The whale shark ranges in size from 18 to 32.8 feet and can weigh about 20.6 tons. - The fin whale can get up to 85 feet long. That’s the length of two school buses! It can weigh up to 75 tons, which is about as much as a space shuttle! - The lion’s mane jellyfish can get up to 120 feet long, putting the lion’s mane jellyfish among the ranks of the world’s longest animals and certainly the largest jellyfish species. It likes to float in the open ocean, where it feeds on zooplankton, small crustaceans, fish, and even other types of jellyfish. - The blue whale is the largest animal this planet as ever seen, and it still swims the oceans today. They range from 82 feet to 105 feet in length and weigh up to a massive 200 tons. That’s as much as an empty Boeing 747!
