10 MOST DANGEROUS OCEAN CREATURES IN THE WORLD

10:17
10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

See How It Feels to Be an Ocean Animal Stuck in a Plastic Bag | National Geographic

01:30
Imagine being trapped inside a huge plastic bag. Each year, more than a million marine creatures and other birds and animals die from plastic trash. In the week leading up to World Oceans Day 2016, National Geographic took to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., with a plastic bag large enough to bring this issue to life at a human scale. This dramatization featuring National Geographic video staff simulates the experience of marine creatures that become trapped in plastic and can't escape. The plastic bag, created by art collective Red Dirt Studio, will be recycled through D.C.'s Office of Recycling. 10 Creepy Sea Creatures You Didn't Know Existed

04:33
Did you know any of these amazing and scary deep sea creatures? It's hard to believe these bizarre animals exist. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg 'Hatchet Fish' footage by Filmic Art : www.filmicart.com For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Description: There is a vast world below the ocean that we have yet to discover in its entirety. While we seem to know nearly everything about the land, the sea still leaves much to be desired. As you go down into the depths of the ocean, you’ll notice a lot will change. For one, you’ll begin to be immersed in darkness. Second, the pressure will change. So, the creatures that have been discovered deep in the oceanic depths are quite different biologically, and they can be quite terrifying to look at. But once we begin to understand them, we can start to learn more about our existence, and even come closer to curing diseases and solving some of the world’s most complex mysteries. However, the sea creatures that have been discovered recently have shown to be just downright creepy and terrifying. You probably recall the Angler Fish, especially if you’re seen the Disney movie, “Finding Nemo”. If you didn’t realize that this fish is the real deal, get ready for new additions to your nightmares. It wasn’t a work of fiction or some messed up fantasy of some Disney Imagineer. The fish that we see in this video is actually female, and the male is a small weakling, wandering the sea to find a female with her pheromones. The male then attaches itself to the female and becomes a parasite. Every part of the male merges with the female except for the testicles, which the female uses to impregnate herself. Jokes aside, this is quite a fascinating process despite how creepy it is. Similar to the angler fish is the Viper Fish, which has a natural extra attachment that illuminates in the darkness of the sea with the purpose of attracting prey. The blob fish is a creature that you wonder what God was smoking or shooting up when he decided to create the blob fish. This fish has no bones, and literally just hangs out on the ocean floor and hopes that food comes to its mouth. Whether you want to worship the blob fish for its epic level of laziness or wonder how in the world the species is still in existence with such an apathetic demeanor, it’s still creepy to look at. Then we have the goblin shark, which is pretty much like the underwater version of the alien from the movie “Alien” due to its protruding mouth. The goblin shark has a large snout and needle-like teeth that are sharp and deadly. For a completely random sea creature, we have the Christmas Tree Worms, which really look like tiny walking fir trees that come in different colors. The branches or hair-like appendages help them breathe as well as consume phytoplankton. Then we have the sea pig, which looks nothing like the pigs we have on land. But instead the sea pig is a multi-tubed foot sea creature that is closely related to the sea cucumber. It eats by pulling water and absorbing organic food. Quite innovative, even though it looks creepy. For more creepy sea creatures, check out the rest of the video for more. At a fundamental level, marine life helps determine the very nature of our planet. Marine organisms produce much of the oxygen we breathe. Shorelines are in part shaped and protected by marine life, and some marine organisms even help create new land. Most life forms evolved initially in marine habitats. Oceans provide about 99 percent of the living space on the planet. The earliest vertebrates appeared in the form of fish, which live exclusively in water. Some of these evolved into amphibians which spend portions of their lives in water and portions on land. Other fish evolved into land mammals and subsequently returned to the ocean as seals, dolphins or whales. Plant forms such as kelp and algae grow in the water and are the basis for some underwater ecosystems. Plankton, and particularly phytoplankton, are key primary producers forming the general foundation of the ocean food chain. Marine vertebrates must obtain oxygen to survive, and they do so in various ways. Fish have gills instead of lungs, although some species of fish, such as the lungfish, have both. Marine mammals, such as dolphins, whales, otters, and seals need to surface periodically to breathe air. Some amphibians are able to absorb oxygen through their skin. Invertebrates exhibit a wide range of modifications to survive in poorly oxygenated waters including breathing tubes (see insect and mollusc siphons) and gills (Carcinus). However, as invertebrate life evolved in an aquatic habitat most have little or no specialisation for respiration in water. Altogether there are 230,000 documented marine species, including over 16,000 species of fish, and it has been estimated that nearly two million marine species are yet to be documented. Marine species range in size from the microscopic, including plankton and phytoplankton which can be as small as 0.02 micrometres, to huge cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises) which in the case of the blue whale reach up to 33 metres (109 feet) in length, being the largest known animal.

Deep Sea Creatures [National Geographic Documentary 2017 HD]

53:56
Deep Sea Creatures [National Geographic Documentary 2017 HD] The Deep sea creature refers to organisms that live below the photic zone of the ocean. These creatures must survive in extremely harsh conditions, such as hundreds of bars of pressure, small amounts of oxygen, very little food, no sunlight, and constant, extreme cold. Most creatures have to depend on food floating down from above. These creatures live in very demanding environments, such as the abyssal or hadal zones, which, being thousands of meters below the surface, are almost completely devoid of light. The water is between 3 and 10 degrees Celsius and has low oxygen levels. Due to the depth, the pressure is between 20 and 1,000 bars. Creatures that live hundreds or even thousands of meters deep in the ocean have adapted to the high pressure, lack of light, and other factors. The depths of the ocean are festooned with the most nightmarish creatures imaginable. You might think you’re safe, because these critters live thousands of feet down in a cold dark abyss, but the vampire squid, which looks like a nightmare umbrella, and the frilled shark—a literal living fossil—will live on in the recesses of your mind long after you’ve clicked away. Enjoy these deep sea horrors and try to have a relaxing day afterward. ► NOTE : I'm a big fan of National Geographic and I just collect the best parts of National Geographic. I do not make money from National Geographic's Video. Thanks You very much

BADASS Ocean Creatures That EAT Land Animals!

10:55
Check out these BADASS Ocean Creatures That EAT Land Animals! This top 10 list of fish that eat creatures on land has some of the most amazing and craziest wildlife in nature! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "REAL Mermaid Sightings Around The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/ChM0CBRmVsM Watch our "10 Sea Monsters ATTACKING A Boat!" video here: https://youtu.be/0XROvoPCDNc Watch our "STRANGEST Animals People Keep As Pets!" video here: https://youtu.be/OMa96nPqz-Y 9. Killifish It may not be too far a stretch to call the Killifish one of the most unique and interesting fish in the world. That's because this is a fish that only lives for about a year, and it uses its body as a missile in order to get food. However, one of the most shocking and surprising things about it, is that it can live on land for a week despite being a fish!! 8. European Wels Catfish The Wels Catfish is one of the world’s largest freshwater fish. This giant fish is native to Eastern Europe but can now be found all over thanks to fishermen who wanted to be able to fish them for sport in Spain and Italy. These fish can get up to 15 feet long and weigh anywhere from 300 to 600 pounds!! 7. Silver Arowana In South America, there is a fish known as the Silver Arowana, and it's known to be quite a vicious predator. It has a leaping ability that is so good that they are able to jump out of the water in order to catch birds, insects, and even grab low-hanging snakes. Just as important though is that they do it with such speed and accuracy that their prey doesn't have time to react, ensuring that they get their meal. 6. Eel Catfish The Eel Catfish is another unique fish that has developed the ability to move onto land!! This fish is found in the muddy swamps of western Africa can grow 12-16 in long (30-40cm). What’s weird about them is that they love to eat beetles which are found on land! The fish has to be hungry enough to want to go through the effort but when it does, it propels itself onto the shore, raises up the front part of its body, and lunges at it with its jaws wide so it can bite down on the beetle. 5. Giant Trevally When BBC was filming their special "Blue Planet II", they were given a tip that there were fish eating birds off of the coast of the Seychelles. The fish that was doing this was one that had not been documented before as ever eating birds! The Giant Trevally fish. 4. Rainbow Trout When it comes to the Rainbow Trout, it already had a reputation for being an extraordinary fish. Mainly because of its fighting spirit and the ability it has to leap out of the water, but when a research team caught a very special Rainbow Trout on camera, they were shocked!! Inside the Rainbow Trout were about 20 shrews. 3. Sharks Sharks are one of the top predators in the ocean, and so you might think that they wouldn't even need to feast on land animals or birds in order to feed their hunger. But the fact of the matter is, when a shark is hungry, they are not going to be picky!! They're known for eating seals, sea lions, and other creatures that hover between land and sea, and for certain species like Tiger Sharks, they're perfectly fine with catching birds right out of the air. 2. Archer Fish When it comes to a creature of the water getting a creature on the land, or in the air, they usually have to develop a special technique. The Archer Fish preys on bugs and other small creatures that hover too close to the water. And with the Archer Fish, they have arguably gotten the most unique, and potentially epic, adaptation of all: the ability to shoot water like a bullet. 1. Orcas While Orcas are not fish, I had to include them on this list because they are very impressive apex predators!! These guys are known as Killer Whales for a reason and they have earned that title by killing creatures both in the water and on land. FRIENDLIEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

Check out the friendliest sea creatures around the world! From incredible animals that saved peoples lives to the strangest ocean wildlife, this top 10 list of friendly creatures swimming around in the vast ocean is amazing! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg Watch our "Most TERRIFYING Sea Monsters Ever!" video here: https://youtu.be/B9aPB6KB504 Watch our "STRANGEST Things Found In The Ocean!" video here: https://youtu.be/XYfqi5VNgac 10. Sea Lions Sea Lions have long been associated with friendly interactions with humans, so much so that they form a large part of Peruvian culture- having been worshipped by the people there and depicted in numerous artworks. They are highly intelligent animals, which means they can learn tricks to entertain crowds, and are quite curious so they will often swim up alongside humans and play with them in the water. They are also used by the US military to assist SCUBA diving teams look for underwater mines and, in some instances, detain divers who have accessed restricted areas until authorities can arrive. Sea lions and dolphins are used as combat marine units and sea lions especially, have excellent eyesight. Sea lions are hardy, smart, and trainable and they have the added advantage that they are amphibious and can easily hand things to their handlers. This all makes Sea Lions sound like gentle creatures, but it’s important to know that sea lions have another side to them. If they aren’t treated well or respectfully, they can become quite aggressive. This can also happen with male Sea Lions because they are very territorial during mating season. If it looks like you’re bothering one then stay away but, if not, they are one of the friendliest sea creatures you’ll ever meet. 9. Beluga Whale Beluga Whales are native to the Arctic and sub-arctic, and are uniquely adapted to the cold waters. They are white in color, don’t have a dorsal fin, and have an enlarged head, which contains an organ called a melon that is used for echolocation. Beluga’s were actually the first type of whale to be kept in captivity, with the first being shown at Barnum’s museum in New York in 1861. To this day they are still the most commonly seen animal in marine parks across North America, Europe and Asia- mainly because they are much smaller than other species of whale and easier to contain. They are also a hit with visitors because of their unusual colour and wide range of facial expressions. They are really curious about the people who visit them, and often perform in shows with trainers who they develop deep bonds with. Since 1992 it has been forbidden to capture Belugas in Canada because of concerns for the population numbers in the wild, so now most of them come from Russia. They are so popular that each one can cost as much as 100,000 dollars. Whale watching tours are a great way to see them in their natural habitat, but it’s important for the boat not to get too close to them because of the way it can interrupt their daily activities. Quite often they enjoy interacting with the boats so much that they get distracted from things like feeding, social interaction with their own species, and breeding. They get so caught up in the moment, they forget what they’re supposed to be doing!! 8. Whale Shark You might not think a shark with a five-foot-wide mouth and more than 3,000 teeth would be the friendliest of creatures, but whale sharks are the most gentle of all shark species. They pose no threat to humans at all, and are usually pretty welcoming to those who want to swim alongside them. Despite their huge mouth, their throats are only the width of a US quarter, and they only eat tiny micro-organisms. Their average speed through the water is about 3 miles per hour, so they are easy to keep up with, and in a lot of tourist areas they are used to the presence of humans in the water, and don’t really seem to be bothered. Cancun is one of the best places to swim with these giants of the ocean, where you’ll really feel small next to a 65-foot-long and 12 ton fish. There really is nothing quite like being surrounded by a few of them, and the experience draws tourists from all over the world. If you visit “Las Afueras” you’ll even have a chance to be amongst a feeding frenzy of hundreds of them, which is a spectacular feat of nature. 7. Manatees Manatees, or sea cows, are also known as gentle giants, and it’s clear to see why. They are fully aquatic and feed mainly on plant life that they sift from the water. They can grow to up to 13-feet-long, weigh about 1,300 pounds, and push their way through the water with their paddle like limbs. The Biggest Unknown Underwater Creatures On Earth

Top 10 most amazing animals found in the ocean Subscribe to TheHub http://goo.gl/87YJzG For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Remember those fishing trips with your parents when you were just a kid? You’d be amazed every time you caught something, and your parents would act impressed, too, even if it was smaller than your palm. At the time you’d find it hard to believe that there were creatures in the ocean bigger than that. Obviously, now that you’ve grown older, you’re aware of some of the huge beasts that grace our seas. Of course, there’s the blue whale or the great white shark, but have you ever considered some of the lesser-known creatures out there? We’ve put together a list of some of the biggest living things you’ll find in the ocean – although they’re not necessarily all things you would like to catch. For example, you most definitely do not want to come across a Giant Spider Crab while paddling at the shore, although chance would be a fine thing, as they don’t tend to swim to the surface. Or what about the Fin Whale? A far friendlier giant, it’s one you should try and see in your lifetime – if it doesn’t get hunted into extinction anytime soon. If you’re venturing further afield, and happen to be in Antarctica, you might be lucky enough to be greeted by a Southern Elephant Seal. You’ll be surprised to find out why it’s named that, too. Some other interesting beasts in our video include the Lion’s Mane Jellyfish, the Oceanic Manta Ray and the Whale Shark, but you’ll have to watch the video to find out the rest.

Baby Starfish Check out this little dude. Or dudette. It gets a little complicated because starfish can have both male and female anatomy all at once. That’s gonna make for a complicated discussion with the parents later in life. When he or she is bigger they’ll look a bit different, but for now let’s enjoy the sight of a squishy-looking baby starfish! 9. Baby Green Sea Urchin Sea urchins are among the most mysterious creatures of the sea. And they are prickly!! But just like any other creature they can be so cute when they’re young! An important thing you should know is that the urchin goes through an extraordinary transformation process that wouldn’t look out of place on a show like Star Trek. 8. Glaucus Atlanticus This creature looks just like a pokemon, doesn’t it?? Like a Pokemon, it’s sweet but can be dangerous. Another name for this fascinating critter, known as Glaucus Atlanticus is ‘blue dragon’, and dragons aren’t known for being friendly. But in this cute little tiny size, who can resist? Because they are so pretty! They are also known as blue angels and sea swallows. Full grown the can be up to 3 centimeters long. 7. Baby Octopus Nothing will make your day more than the sight of a baby octopus! So heartwarming! Which is interesting really because an octopus is born with three hearts! Plus it’s a baby octopus and practically any baby sea creature is bound to be cute. I just don’t have enough time in this video!! 6. Sea Bunny This is another case of something that looks downright adorable but is in fact deceptively badass. Still extremely cute though, right? Meet the Sea Bunny Slug which looks just like some kind of sweet and tiny, furry creature. Native to the Indo-Pacific Ocean, it’s a slug whose less adorable name is Jorunna parva. 5. Baby Frogfish The frogfish has a reputation as a famous undersea imitator. It has excellent camouflage and can blend in with its surroundings and fool both predators and prey. When it’s a baby however, it does a pretty good impression of something that’s super cute. Look at the little fella. Awww! 4. Little Nudibranch Well look who it is… a baby nudibranch. Hey there we were just talking about you! Seems to be a lot of little slugs in the ocean! Not that we’re complaining when you look this adorable. The name comes from ‘Nudibranchia’ meaning ‘naked gills’ which is kind of odd as their gills are feathery. 3. Baby Ghost Crab Of all the entries on this list, this one definitely has the most unappealing name. Ghost Crab sounds kind of spooky!! It has another name which is the “Mole Crab” which doesn’t exactly sell it to us. But what’s in a name! This little guy is considered by some to be very tiny and cute! 2. Baby Seahorse Baby seahorses are arguably the cutest thing you’ll find in the ocean. Want to know something that’ll make them seem even cuter? They’re the product of love, not just procreation. Well, we like to think of it that way! The male and the female stay together for life, and perform a kind of dance as part of a ritual each morning. How romantic! 1. Baby Sea Turtle Sea turtles are loved by just about everyone, but baby sea turtles? They give baby seahorses a run for their money!! The female sea turtles will make the tiresome journey to get to the sandy beach, dig a hole and lay up to 100 eggs. The sea turtles will then hatch and make a mad dash for the water, trying to avoid all kinds of predators from birds to foxes, to racoons, to the ghost crab. 11 Scariest Ocean Predators

09:17
The ocean is full of mysteries, we have gathered a list of 11 of the scariest ocean predators.. that we know of today. Subscribe for weekly wacky videos and learn interesting facts about the world with awesome top 10 lists and other amazing videos. 5 - Leopard Seals - The Leopard Seal is a seal that can be found in the frigid waters of Antarctica. It gets its name from its black-spotted coat that resembles a leopard. Like their namesakes, Leopard seals are fierce predators. Of all the seals, they are the most formidable hunters, and the only ones that feed on warm-blooded prey. They can grow up to 12 feet long and use their powerful jaws and long teeth to prey on fish, squid, penguins, and even other seals! They will often wait underwater near an ice shelf and grab birds as they land on the water. 4 - Frilled Shark - The Frilled shark is a primitive looking shark found in the waters of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, generally over the continental shelf and slope. It has been found lurking in depths over 5,000 feet. First discovered in the late 1800’s, this “living fossil” gets its name from the frilly or fringed appearance of its 6 gills and its resemblance to ancestors who swam with the dinosaurs. It has an eel like body which it uses to bend and lunge at prey like a snake. It swallows its prey whole and its many rows of teeth make it nearly impossible for anything to escape. It can grow over 6’ long. 3 - Lionfish - The Lionfish is a venomous fish which can be found in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Its body consists of red, white, and black bands, and it is covered in long brightly colored venomous spines that make it appear like a pin cushion. The Lionfish can grow up to 17 inches long and weigh up to 3 pounds. They mostly prey on small fish, invertebrates, and mollusks, which they eat in one bite. Humans who have been pierced by one of its spines experience extreme pain, vomiting, fever, convulsions, dizziness, and breathing difficulties, sometimes resulting in temporary paralysis, heart failure, and even death in the very young and old. Despite the dangers, Lionfish are one of the most popular fish for home aquariums. 2 - Great White shark – Also known as the white pointer and the white death, the great white shark can be found near the coastal waters of all the oceans. What makes the great white shark so terrifying is its size. The largest of these sharks grow up to 20 feet and 4300 pounds. Typically the females grow up to 16 feet and the males up to 13 feet. The great white can live up to 70 years and is one of the longest living cartilaginous fish known today. The killer whale is its only known threat and can usually hold its own against that predator. The great white feeds on almost all other marine animals and, although humans aren’t their preferred meal, they will happily feed on humans if given the chance. The most reported unprovoked shark attacks on humans has been attributed to the great white shark. It’s this piece of information that the movie Jaws was based on a “ferocious man eating” great white shark. 1 - Killer Whales - Killer Whales, also known as Orcas, are a bit of a misnomer as they actually belong to the dolphin family, of which they are the largest members. Scientists believe their name came from a mistranslation of a Spanish name, for whale killer. They are found all over the world in oceans from the Arctic to the Antarctic. Killer Whales can grow over 30 feet long and weigh over 9 tons. Despite its size, the Killer Whales are very agile and its large size and strength make it one of the fastest marine animals, able to reach speeds of over 30 miles per hour. It also has one of the most distinctive black and white color schemes, which make it stand out from any other marine mammal. They have good eyesight and excellent hearing and can detect prey using their very sophisticated echolocation ability. Killer Whales prey on fish and other marine animals, including seals and even other dolphins. They have even been known to hunt together in pods to kill full grown whales. They sit on top of their food chain and have no known predators.

19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures

09:30
From Nemo, the clownfish, to the beautiful and elusive Blue Sea Slug, these are 19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures ! 8. Blue Tang -- Undersea creatures seem to look really cool in blue … and this one is no exception. The Blue Tang shows off some amazing blue coloration complemented by bold black markings. It almost sounds like a fashion shows, right? These fish are usually found in Indo-Pacific waters and are actually bright yellow when they’re younger. The blue and black colors show up at their final phase of development. 7. Coral -- Is that a brain at the bottom of the ocean? No … but it is a brain coral … and just an example of the wide ranging variety of living coral and coral reefs, some of which are thought to have started growing over 50 million years ago. Contrary to some beliefs, coral are animals, not plants … they’re actually related to anemones and jellyfish. The reefs formed by coral provide housing for thousands of marine species, giving them a place to find food, reproduce, and keep them safe until they’re mature enough to venture into the deeper ocean. Did you know coral reef plants and animals have proven important to the development of new medicines to treat cancer, Alzheimer's and heart disease? But even with all those advantages, human activity is threatening almost 60 percent of the world’s coral reefs. 6. Flower Hat Jellyfish -- This rare species of jellyfish is a rare species usually found in the waters of southern japan, Argentina and Brazil. It can grow to a half-foot in diameter, and is easily recognizable by its translucent bell, which is pinstriped with opaque bands. Those coiling tentacles adhere to the rim while not in use. Like many pretty looking things, this jelly carries a sting … but even though it’s painful, it’s non-lethal to humans … the worst you’d get is a rash. 5. Blue Sea Slug -- We couldn’t find a lot of information on this critter. From what we’ve seen, it’s often identified as a Blue Sea Slug … but that sounds like a pedestrian name for such a colorful creature. You can see the brilliant blue coloration in this photo … the animal almost looks like an alien life form with the two antennae sticking up. We’re guessing it might be a Nudibranch (new-di-brank). Those mollusks are noted for their striking colors, and there are more than 2,300 validated species scattered about the world. Can you confirm that? Let us know in the comments! 4. Mantis Shrimp -- They’re one of the most colorful forms of marine life, but don’t be fooled. They’re also known as ferocious undersea predators that possess, pound for pound, one of the most powerful punches on the planet. Punching with speed equal to a .22 caliber bullet, the Mantis Shrimp has not only broken shells of its prey … it’s also broken through aquarium glass. Punching at that velocity makes water vaporize and explode with a sharp bang, a flash of light and extremely high heat, all of which is felt by the victim as an additional blast. Not bad for an animal that averages less than four inches long. 3. Juvenile Emperor Angelfish -- Their coloration will change with age … but while they’re young, they exhibit these amazing displays of swirling dark blue, white and electric blue. It almost look hypnotic, right? Well, the fish keeps these distinct patterns until it reaches maturity, which usually takes around 4 years. Then the fish develops blue and yellow stripes, and black shading around its eyes. 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiprioninae Clownfish -- Did you recognize them from “Finding Nemo”? Known as one of the most brightly colored fish in the world, their bodies have distinctive white striping with colors that can vary from red, orange or yellow. They’re also known as anemone fishes, because of their mutually beneficial relationship with sea anemones. The toxic tentacles of the anemones protect clownfish from predators. And the fast movement of the fishes helps anemones find food and increase circulation. 1. The Mandarinfish -- Also known as the “Mandarin Dragonet” it swims in the Pacific reefs … but it’s less than 3 inches long so it can be difficult to see in the wild. As you might guess, this fish is highly sought after in the aquarium trade … but they’re considered extremely difficult to their strict eating habits. Some people think the Mandarinfish might be the most beautiful fish in the world … would you agree? to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife

BIGGEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

10:56
Check out the biggest sea creatures around the world! This top 10 list of largest ocean animals on earth features some crazy monsters lurking in the deep sea! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most TERRIFYING Sea Monsters Ever!" video here: https://youtu.be/B9aPB6KB504 Watch our "CREEPY Fish From The Deep Sea!" video here: https://youtu.be/IjbRmTvO1_g Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg 10.) Fin Whale The fin whale is the second largest creature on Earth after the blue whale. It has been severely affected by commercial whaling and now it is rare to see one. If you have seen one, consider yourself lucky! They can grow as long as 89 feet (27 m) in length and can weigh between 40 to 80 tons! The maximum ever recorded weighed in at 114 tons!! They can live to be over 100 years old if left alone. The fin whale’s body is built for speed and it can even go faster than the fastest ocean steamship. It’s capable of speeds of up to 37 km/h but can go short bursts of even 47 km/h, earning it the nickname “greyhound of the sea”. Fin Whales have a very unique coloring with the right underside of their jaw, right lip, and the right side of their baleen being a yellowish-white, while the left-side is gray, making them look asymmetrical. Fun fact, fin whales and blue whales make the lowest frequency sounds of any animals. When they were first recorded by submarines, scientists thought they were tectonic plates grinding. Kind of makes you wonder about what is causing other mysterious ocean sounds! 9.) Portuguese Man of War While this is often considered a jellyfish, the Portuguese man-of-war is actually not an “it” but a “they”! It is made up of a colony of organisms called polyps that work together known as a siphonophore. While the tentacles can extend 165 feet (50 m), the average is about 30 feet (9 m) long. Still nothing to scoff at!! Also known as “the floating terror”, their body is between 5 inches to a foot wide (13 cm- 130 cm). They are usually found in groups of about a thousand or more, and have no independent means of movement. They either drift on the currents or catch the wind, so even though you should be super careful of jellyfish, they aren’t ever out to get you on purpose! The tentacles on a man-of-war are extremely venomous and very painful if you get stung but they are rarely deadly. The venom is typically used to paralyze their prey, such as small fish and other smaller creatures. Also keep in mind that a man-of-war does not need to be alive in order to give off a powerful sting, even if it has washed up on shore and looks dead, it can still sting you! The Portuguese man-of-war floats around the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Indian and Pacific. So keep an eye out if you are swimming around these areas! 8.) Giant Clam The giant clam is the largest living bivalve mollusk on earth. (Bivalve mollusks include clams, oysters, and mussels). Native to the warm waters of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, giant clams are capable of growing an average of 4 feet (1 m) in length and weighing close to 500 pounds (250 kg)! However, some species of clams have been known to grow as long as 6 feet. The large majority of a giant clam’s mass is in its shell, with the soft parts accounting for only approximately 10% of the weight. Giant clams are now endangered because they apparently are also quite delicious and have been hunted for centuries for its healthy protein. The giant clam has one chance to find its perfect home because once it chooses its spot, it stays there for the rest of its life. They can live up to 100 years or more, as long as they are in the wild. Most of the giant clams you see today have been raised in captivity and are really popular in large aquariums. Giant clams achieve their enormous proportions by consuming the sugars and proteins produced by the billions of algae that live in their tissues. This symbiotic relationship protects the algae and they are responsible for the unique coloration. No two giant clams are alike! 7.) Great White Shark According to National Geographic, great white sharks are the largest predatory fish in the world. They grow to an average of 15 feet (4.6 m) in length. However, there have been some who have grown to 20 feet (6 m) in length! In fact, the largest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to be 26 feet long, which is more than half the length of a basketball court. Combine this with a bunch of teeth, and this is why people get so scared. They are known to weigh up to 5,000 pounds (2268 kg). The heaviest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to weigh in at a whopping 7,328 pounds. . Amazing Underwater Marine Life

05:09
Amazing Underwater Marine Life Enjoy this relaxing underwater video from the philippines. Most of the time the ocean appears to be blue because this is the color our eyes see. But the ocean can be many other colors depending upon particles in the water, the depth of the water, and the amount of skylight. The colors we see depend upon the reflection of the visible wavelengths of light to our eyes. Wavelengths of light pass through matter differently depending on the material's composition. Blue wavelengths are transmitted to greater depths of the ocean, while red wavelengths are absorbed quickly. Water molecules scatter blue wavelengths by absorbing the light waves, and then rapidly reemitting the light waves in different directions. That is why there are mostly blue wavelengths that are reflected back to our eyes. Sometimes oceans look green. This may be because there is an abundance of plant life or sediment from rivers that flow into the ocean. The blue light is absorbed more and the yellow pigments from plants mix with the blue light waves to produce the color green. Sometimes parts of the oceans will look milky brown after a storm passes. This is because winds and currents associated with the storm churn up sand and sediment from the rivers that lead into the oceans. The ocean may also reflect the blue sky. However this is prominent only at relatively low angles and when the water is smooth. Apart from the blue ocean color the most interesting thing in the ocean are the marine animals living in this habitat. Also their color is without light that bright as we see it in underwater photographs or underwater DVD Videos. This film was filmed with dive lights mounted on a underwater video camera and shows spectacular colors of the ocean inhabitants the graceful marine creatures.

Sharks : Scavengers of the Seas - Documentary

49:41
Before being an earthly paradise with enchanting colours, the lagoon of New-Caledonia is above all a paradise for sharks. Usually considered as fierce predators, sharks really are opportunistic scavengers. Scavengers that are not too picky when it comes to their menu: feathers, fins or fur, anything will do. Amongst the most striking scenes which punctuate this documentary filmed for four years in New Caledonia, is the never-seen-before sequence of the planet’s greatest animal, a weakened blue whale, attacked and cleaned up by hordes of sharks from the surface down to the abyss. High quality images and a dramatic backdrop soundtrack plunge us into the shark's world. 7 Most Giant Sea Creatures You've Ever Seen

09:46
What are the biggest creatures in the world? If you wanna find the true giants of this planet, you’ll need to head into the ocean. Without the force of gravity pulling them down, marine animals can reach unimaginable sizes. TIMESTAMPS: The Giant Clam 1:37 The Giant Spider Crab 2:41 The Great White Shark 3:45 The Whale Shark 4:52 The Fin Whale 5:49 The Lion’s Mane Jellyfish 6:39 The Blue Whale 7:53 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - Giant Clams are the largest mollusks in the world. They can grow around 4 feet in length and weigh more than 440 pounds. - The giant spider crab lives in the waters near Japan. Their legs reach about 11.5 feet from claw to claw and the body can be around 14.5 inches in diameter, which is pretty small compared to their long long limbs. - The great white gets its name from its distinct white belly under its grey body. As for the “great” part, that’s simply because some of them can grow over 20 feet long! As for your average great white shark, it’s usually about 15 feet in length, making it the largest predatory fish in the world. - The whale sharks are covered in white spots that have a unique design for each individual shark. The whale shark ranges in size from 18 to 32.8 feet and can weigh about 20.6 tons. - The fin whale can get up to 85 feet long. That’s the length of two school buses! It can weigh up to 75 tons, which is about as much as a space shuttle! - The lion’s mane jellyfish can get up to 120 feet long, putting the lion’s mane jellyfish among the ranks of the world’s longest animals and certainly the largest jellyfish species. It likes to float in the open ocean, where it feeds on zooplankton, small crustaceans, fish, and even other types of jellyfish. - The blue whale is the largest animal this planet as ever seen, and it still swims the oceans today. They range from 82 feet to 105 feet in length and weigh up to a massive 200 tons. That’s as much as an empty Boeing 747!
