Hey everyone, I’m Cameron with Viral Launch, and welcome to our “How to Sell on Amazon” video series! I’m going to walk you, step-by-step, through how to become a successful Amazon seller from beginning to end -- Whether you’re unhappy with your 9-to-5 and want to find financial freedom, or you want a steady stream of cash to supplement your income, selling on Amazon is an incredible opportunity for people looking to build their own successful business
Starting everything off, let’s go over what it means to actually sell physical products on Amazon and what this opportunity means for you as an entrepreneur. You’ve probably shopped on Amazon.com before. You head to the homepage, type in what you’re looking for, and purchase what you need pretty quickly. From a buyer’s perspective, shopping on Amazon is easy, and you can always find what you need. But as a buyer, you may not realize that each of the thousands of products in your search results is sold by an Amazon seller, and each of those sellers are competing for your purchase. Just as an example, let’s say you’re on Amazon and you want to buy something like a DISH TOWEL. You type in dish towel, and a BUNCH of different results show up. Each of those products are being sold by SOMEONE ELSE. Many sellers actually think that Amazon themselves are selling each of these products, when in reality, these products are being sold by individuals or other businesses. Those Amazon sellers range from everyday people making 6, 7, 8 figures a year to major brands, such as Nike, Samsung, and Amazon itself. But we’ll get into that more later.
So, alright, WHY should you sell products on Amazon? Well, First, Amazon has a massive built-in, buyer-ready customer base. Instead of spending a TON of money trying to drive traffic and generate sales on your own website, you’re able to get your product out to millions of Amazon customers who are already searching for the product you’re selling -- Basically, everyone searching for and BUYING your product is already there. You don’t have to go looking for them.
Secondly, Amazon handles storing and shipping your inventory for you through Fulfillment by Amazon, or FBA. So instead of storing thousands of products in your garage and shipping out boxes for each order, you send in your products to Amazon’s warehouses and they take care of storing, packing, and shipping your items for you. This way, you can build your own scalable physical products business without the headache of inventory logistics. If you’ve bought a Prime product on Amazon before, it’s likely from an FBA seller who sent that product into an Amazon warehouse, and then Amazon shipped it to you on the seller’s behalf. And that’s why you get your package in only two days!
