That speeding math is wrong, even if the answer is somewhat close to it. You can’t simply just multiply the probability of one event happening by 50. If the probability of getting into a car crash is 0.1%, that doesn’t mean that if I drive 1000 times that I’m guaranteed a 100% chance of getting into one. The real percentage of speeding in monopoly within 50 turns is 18.2%.
Me and my twins and gf play this every Thursday ... I've litterally won 1 time and I cheat🤣🤣

Calculation at 1:36 is incorrect. Calculating this kind of probability isn't done so simply. You cannot just multiply the probability of speeding in one turn by 50 and get 20% chance. Because if you calculated it the same way with 250 turns, the chance would be 100 percent! Impossible right? There can never be a 100% . Only a 99,999... So that's why you have to calculate it by using the probability of NOT speeding. 100 - 0,4 = 99,6 99,6 / 100 = 0,996 0,996^50 = 0,81840245 1 - 0,81840245 ~ 0,182 0,182 = 18,2% So we actually get a 18,2% chance and not a 20% chance. Sure, it's close but still, they clearly don't Know how to calculate it properly. Hope you guys don't make the same mistake!

Here is how I win monopoly every time. I never let anyone get a full set of properties. I will always offer to buy or trade one of my cards if I see they are heading for a full set to block them. I then try and get ONLY ONE full set myself and then put houses and hotels on it as quickly as humanly possible. I only focus on one set and put the maximum amount of hotels on it. You will bankrupt all of the players after a few rounds on the board. It is simply delicious.

Build 4 house but do not build hotels if you get 24 of the houses no one can build hotels so you can’t really be scared of board walk if you are winning

I knew my orange bois were top notch. My father always took the dark blues, my brother the reds, my mother the greens, and I took the oranges. Can I also point out that oranges have a smaller buy in cost than the other colors? Owning a brown, magenta, red, or green are bad investments because they require the same amount of money as the light blues, oranges, yellows, and dark blues but do not have the same payout.

Dice have no memory, meaning that the past does not affect future. There is no way to calculate the odds of rolling a seven or any number, at any given time. If that were the case casino games like craps would become beatable.
JUXE (2 months ago)
Here’s what you need to do, before the game hide a couple $500 notes under the microwave in the kitchen, throughout the game say your going to fill up your glass and everytime you go there take a couple $500 notes, don’t see it as cheating more of an offshore account you set up earlier
David Liu (2 months ago)
You are about to destroy child. *Are you sure?*
XGardet (2 months ago)
But actually when you roll a small Number which Is unlikely, the next turn you can still go the position that Was most likely to go like 6-7-8, so the odds to go there are even higher if you consider multiple turns

tinymigget25 (2 months ago)
math at 1:39 is incorroect. the math is 1 -( .996 ^ 50 ) = 18.15 percent chance of going to jail. Basic statistics, you cant do 0.4 x 50 because the actions are not independent

Unfortunately I'm a luck magnet, and it includes both sides. You get good rolls, but you are more likely to land on the fourth street.

I bankrupted the bank in monopoly once cause the 3 players playing the game landed on my buffed Mayfair at least 3 times on each of them they resorted to mortaiging but it bankrupted them and the bank.

I always invest in the second row, its a money maker.
Lj Ljda (2 months ago)
They made a mistake in calculating the probability that you’d go to jail for speeding! You cannot simply multiply the probability of rolling three doubles in a row by 50 player turns. What if you had 1,000 player turns would you then have a 400% chance of being caught speeding? No. The correct way to calculate the odds would be to first find the likelihood that you would not be speeding on any given turn which is 99.6%. You then take this percentage and you raise it to the 50th power. Which results in around 81.8%. This is the percentage chance you wouldn’t speed during the game. You get this result and subtract it from 100% to get your final answer of an around 18.15% chance of being caught speeding at some point during the game. Distinction was quite small in this case but a surprising mistake as far as mathematical intuition is concerned.
Roohullah Abba (2 months ago)
Lj Ljda good shit.
50 times 0.4% isn't exactly 20% when it comes to probability, it is close though

On the back of every game it should say: DISCLAIMER: Might provide hours of fun, but all it will probably do is tear your family apart and destroy friendships.
maciejl20 (3 months ago)
yeah...as long other people will want to allow you to build anything, beceasue to build a house you must have 2 or 3 cards of the same color...and most of the time you do not have the whole color

Krisian Zavalani (3 months ago)
You cant multiply 0.4 with 50 to get the probability. If we assume the prob. was 0.5 (50%)*50 that you would have a 2500% chance according to this method. So nope. The probability for speeding is 0.4% at all time since the events are independent of each other.
A A (1 month ago)
Krisian Zavalani Agreed, but just in case, the correct probability in this scenario is 1-(1-0.004)^50, which comes to about 18.2%

Miguel Dominic (4 months ago)
Another strategy is to try to acquire the light blue, orange, yellow, or dark blue because the payouts are higher than the other color set on the same side of the board but, the houses cost the same. Therefore you will get a better return on investment than if you bought the brown, pink, red, or greens. Also you should build up houses conservatively and make sure you have enough money to pay for spaces you might land on. You cant go bankrupt if you always have enough money to pay for properties.

Or just make sure that the banker is your best friend and you manage to launder the money he gives you. So. 3 simple steps to rule the board. Firstly, make sure that the banker is your best friend out of all the others. Then, make sure you seat close to him. Three, make sure that you are not suspicious. If you overdo it with the money, they will notice you. You have to either hide the money and don't use it all the time, or, buy every business you find so you can "launder" the money, and you're not suspicious. After this I assure you, your only friend will be the banker
SaintLOLfe (4 months ago)
just steal the money from the bank when they aren't looking
Alan Xia (4 months ago)
your mixing up probabilities and possibilities... your 0.4% "analysis" is wrong. It means every time you get a 0.4% chance to roll 3 doubles, it doesnt mean that everytime you dont roll 3 doubles, it increases your chance of getting it the next time. Its like saying theres a 50/50 chance of me getting 1,000,000 dollars tmrw because its either I do get it or I dont get it, but in reality what are the chances of that?

Don't need math, just need common business sense. I win all the time in Monopoly because I'm a buyer and bit of a risk taker. It's the endeavour and entrepreneurial spirit which is most important for success in Monopoly

The problem is that you'll need luck to be able to land of one of those sweet spot tiles, in the first place. So even if you know which properties to buy, you will still need to get lucky. Everyone with some math skills can calculate these probabilities and will surely buy the best properties as soon as possible. It then boils down to who will get lucky the quickest to beat the others to those tiles. A game that almost entirely relies on chance isn't much of a game, in my opinion.

there is higher chance to dice 7 based on that you can calculate your strategy

Jail is your best spot when you have a lot of property with hotels.
not SirBeasty (6 months ago)
Just get some properties, try to land on go to jail, and just stay in jail, as you still get money if people land on ur properties and there’s 0% you have to pay someone by landing on their properties.
Gregory Crawford (6 months ago)
Completely useless, I already figured this out Or maybe I just play too much monopoly
