I’m Egyptian and fair and so is my Egyptian mother and father. As someone who is native to the environment, I can prove that sentiment wrong. As well as this, Cleopatra was greek, not Egyptian. Simply because someone lives in Egypt, it doesn’t change their ethnicity, only their nationality. That would be like saying immigrants from Russia stopped being of Russian descent, the second they stepped into America. There is no conductive research to prove whether she was dark or light, but we can safely assume she was lighter than the mass majority of Egyptians, due to her heritage. I’ve been to Egypt multiple times and there is an extreme variance in skin colors, due to historical events like slavery, conquering and the whole Alexander the Great situation. So, Cleopatra was not dark (compared to the majority) and most definitely not Egyptian (at least ethnicity wise). Just because Egypt is in North Africa, doesn’t mean that we are dark. It’s like saying all Africans are dark, when even some South Africans are light. It’s like saying all Asians are pale, and all white people have straight hair.

Why you use this word "only Chinese women "
Cintia Mihaela (2 months ago)
Hi just here to clarify: Cleopatra was indeed dark skinned as her Egyptian counterparts were, what this video is trying to say is that she took a lot of measures to make her skin fairer IN COMPARISON TO others. Yes she was still dark, but considered fairer in comparison to her counterparts because of all the measures she took to lighten her skin tone.
Fabian Hale (2 months ago)
Kleopatra was Macedonian Greek mixed with Persian. She wasn’t what you would call dark.

Some of you guys trying to act all smart just like “oh no Cleopatra wouldn’t have had light skin she was Egyptian” but actually she was Greek

Cleopatra had honey brown skin. she was DARK. I did a biography on her and there was nothing about her having “fair skin”
Fabian Hale (3 months ago)
Kleopatra was described as snowy by the Romans particularly by Lucan. That and she is depicted at least twice that way in frescoes from Herculaneum.
Shahy G (3 months ago)
I'm from Egypt and I can confirm the "sugaring" tip. We still use it till this day instead of waxing, it lives the skin softer and brighter and less inflamed. It takes from 2 to 3 weeks for the hair to start growing back. True it hurts less than waxing but still painful though
Susan Browning (3 months ago)
Fair skinned is flawless skin and soft to the touch. It is a beauty trait but exist in all colors of skin. The skin tone is not uneven and has a natural buttery/creamy look. It is not milky white as breast are referred to in romance novels. Good skin is genetic just like good teeth.

I Control My Fate (4 months ago)
Cleopatra was not known for her beauty. In fact at best, she was described as plain. It was her voice, her charm, and her ability to speak languages which made her captivating, and i suppose being a luxurious queen.

One) Cleopatra was not fair skinned (like everyone else is pointing out) Two) she was not anymore beautiful than anyone else she just had a lot of confidence Three) (and this one I may be wrong about) I don't think that the women of ancient times cared too much about body hair based off the fact that I KNOW Victorian and Medival women didn't.
Fabian Hale (4 months ago)
I didn’t say you did claim to be.
Kelly Joseph (4 months ago)
+Fabian Hale I said I could be wrong. I didn't claim to be an expert
Fabian Hale (4 months ago)
Medieval and Victorian women have no relevance to ancient women. And if ancient women didn’t care about body hair then why do shaving equipment exist in ancient times? And as a Macedonian Kleopatra counts as fair.

I mean I would've liked your awesome vid but you're racist and Eurocentric. Cleo was brown. African . now you know. haha yea I know, Africans, we're the best in everything. that's y y'all white asses always trynna take the glory for yourselves. smh
Fabian Hale (6 months ago)
Kleopatra was Macedonian Greek mixed with Persian. She wasn’t African except by birth. And no you’re not the best at everything so you are just as guilty taking glory that isn’t yours. The only thing racist here is you. Africa has achievements but so does every other continent and civilization so knock yourself down a peg.

idylle♡doll (7 months ago)
Why are people so uneducated about Cleopatras ethnicity? Google people. Plenty of credible sources and evidence to support that she was of mixed ancestry but still predominantly Macedonian. Her father was Greek Macedonian and her mother was unknown but sources say all the kings wives and concubines were of Macedonian blood to keep it pure, however their family was in Egypt for 300 years already by the time she came to power so there probably was some intermixing however if there is any mixing that it was slight. Science supports Cleopatra being mostly Macedonian with possibility of mixture but with probably less than half Egyptian.
Fabian Hale (5 months ago)
If this is who you’re talking about then you’ve been wrong the whole time: http://www.britishmuseum.org/research/collection_online/collection_object_details/collection_image_gallery.aspx?partid=1&assetid=31568001&objectid=124280
Fabian Hale (5 months ago)
Kleopatra’s remains have never been found. Don’t you think a discovery like that would be a headliner around the world? Who ever you’re talking about it’s not any Kleopatra from the Ptolemaic period or any royal dynasty.
idylle♡doll (5 months ago)
Fabian Hale what are you talking about? I saw Cleopatra in London. Her mummy is there! Lollll.
Fabian Hale (7 months ago)
How can science support anything when Kleopatra’s remains aren’t even found?

The cabbage leaves part is true. Tried and tested. After i lost my baby just 3 days after he was born i experienced immense pain in my breast and cabbage leaves really helped me with the pain and also dried up some of the milk.

Your wrong. Nothing is implied here. The Romans are mentioned only for a second and that was only after mentioning the Egyptians and roses.
Alisha Jones (8 months ago)
Fabian Hale well from the depiction seen on the screen it was implied by the mention of the romans and showing Elizabeth Taylor.

Lmao....so many of you have NO IDEA how much saffron (real saffron) even costs and 99% of you, myself included cannot even afford to buy a pound of it, the REAL stuff without putting a serious dent in your pocket. It is one of the most expensive spices/herbs in the entire world and a pound of it costs $2,000 to $10,000, if you have $500 to blow on an ounce then good for you. Real vanilla beans are also very expensive, you can find them, but you'll be paying a price at the very least $200 per pound. Both are not cheap even buying just a small quantity.
