I love La Roche Posay, but I had to switch because I can't afford to replenish it every 2 months :'( It's the only brand that has been so good to my sensitive/acne prone skin!
Lydia Rego (30 days ago)
How'd you bring these full sized products back on a plane??
Emily Mariko (30 days ago)
Check in suitcase!

La roche posay is the best brand. Like istg, even my dermatologist prescribed the cleansing gel and face moisturizer when I took accutane (for acne)

As a french girl just popping in to say you can use the embryolisse moisturiser as a mask and as a cleanser too, thats why frenchies swear by it, its literally perfect for anything. I know french pharmacy isnt cruelty free and contains fragrences sometimes, but they were what i was raised on, and until I was in my late teens, the only things i used! My mother used to buy everything from there; toothpaste, skincare, makeup, sunscreen, even shampoo and conditioner . I remember my first trip to the parapharma w my mom when i was twelve to pick up the essentials, which ultimately, was the root of my passion for skincare. I think the philosophy of french women is to really focus on your skin, making it the best canvas possible for any makeup you want to put over top (which is usually very minimal, but its bad to generalise). I love skincare, and i love being a walk away from my local pharmacy. Loved the video, hope you love the products 😊😊

sharewear so glad they worked for you, make sure you try using the lait concentré as a mask it’s so good for that! :)

Korean ingredients are way ahead. Western brands don't have good ingredients. The packaging and marketing jusy make it seem better lol. Korean skincare is affordable. And even the expensive stuff works AND last months so are worth it more

You should check out more of my videos, I’ve done a million Korean skincare vids!

I love Embryolise Lait crème, it's absolely a great product, I do everything with it. Moisturiser, primer and makeup remover. And my secret, it softens the lip in 1 second! Great to apply a lipstick right away
Gabs Bissessar (6 months ago)
Wow you can literally find all of these at Shoppers Drugmart in Canada.

I tried all the products you shared in your video. except for the little blue serum. I use Bioderma pink bottle for every morning and night to clean everything before spraying my face with Avene thermal spray. I don't wash my face with French tapwater and I also don't shower too long. My eyes become red when I was my face with French tapwater so since 3 years I tried to avoid it as much as I can. The caudalie spray is a must I have a little one in my bag for the go and a big one at home....You should try Uriage eau thermale silky body lotion it's really good. there's also this product Hexomedine it's a must have it's like 2 euro is very good if you have pimple or superficial wound 1 dap and gone the next day. Expensive stuff doesn't have to be good and most of them are actually full of chemicals so it's also important to read what's in the products that you are buying. What is popular to be said by famous make up artists or models, celebrities doesn't have to be good. Most of these people don't really do their research. So its good to try things out and most of the times what works for me doesn't have to work for you.....But its good to be curious and find your own answers. Best thing to do is to experience it yourself. I have trust issues when it comes to popular beauty products.

Hi i'm a french girl and if you buy a "coffret" it's like a beauty box, you have more products for cheaper (Nuxe and Caudalie do that!) and it's also a rly good gift!

Love the Nuxe dry oil spray! Smells heavenly.

i have embryolisse i think it clog my pores and make me breakout
Evangelia Grigoriadou (6 months ago)
I have tried almost all of them and I have to say, the Caudalie spray is amazing and I love it. I really do. I have bought 3 or 4 small sizes by now. The big one is pretty expensive and too big for my bag. And the La Roche Posay things you bought are really good. I bought the serum 10 days ago and it feels really nice on my skin. And also the toleriane is a great line. I had the night cream that was better I think. I wear sunscreen in the mornings, so I wear it at night. It's lightweight and it is good for the skin. If you are sensitive or have redness it is one of the best options. Great buys. Honestly. You will enjoy them.
Ray22 (6 months ago)
I luv the Embryolisse moisturizer. The one I found and tried was the citrus scented and it's amazing! 😍
Sofia (6 months ago)
can you make a follow up video on how your skin took to these products?
Olivia D (6 months ago)
So i read the ingredients on the face cream in the beginning that models apparently use and holy cats, there are so many ingrediants in it that are horrible for skin. alcohol, parabens, fragrance, and silicones which arent terribly bad but it olds any bacteria that is on skin and doesnt let skin breath, MINERAL OIL which is also in the avene cream as well and this is for SURE bad for the skin.

those PARA-pharmacy products...so they are sold in pharmacy but it a way for those places to make money. I am French myself I know them all, my friend's mom is a doctor and she said those products has nothing in particular they are just okay and overpriced. They benefit from the image of the pharmacy (which is in France the only place where you can get [official] medications).
glamorouslyhana 91 (7 months ago)
Yes it's a good cream ( the one from laroche Posay) I was one of the ambassador last year when the product came out :) city pharma is a good play to shop!!! Im a teacher at the sorbona university so I usually do my shopping there :) bisou

ExC C (7 months ago)
Hey, I'm French, really good video :) Tips for the mists and water products: I really find the Laroche Posay calming water more effective and calming than the Avène one, and I also recommend the Serozinc from Laroche Posay which is a water + zinc mist formula. Otherwise, I could also recommend the Lipikar range from Laroche Posay for the winter months, it's a very rich and cocooning range for dry skin, top! Last but not least, the "Eau délassante" from Nuxe is also a dream to use (water to refresh and perfume the Body, perfect for the summer!). I hope you'll be back in France one day ;) Regards!
Alessandra Alfieri (7 months ago)
I suggest you to try Jowae eau ther mal and eau micellare. Is a Brand franch korean Very used in france and italy.
Cintia Cin (7 months ago)
I went to the same pharmacy when I was in Paris last December cause Lisa Eldridge recommended it :) Bought the same cleansing water with the pink cap, a lip balm from Nuxe that is also recommended by her and other make up artists and other stuff. It's tru that it's always crowded!
JulieBee (7 months ago)
Just comme to Montreal next time you want all of these french brands and more😉 Basic brands for us here
oxfordkomma (7 months ago)
As a Belgian I found this video super funny, because these are like the most basic and popular choices you could have made. I actually stopped using most of these brands (except Nuxe, which is my ultimate favourite skincare brand) in favour of Korean products which I just find so much more useful and effective. Quick note: La Roche-Posay is NOT a dupe for l'Oréal. l'Oréal is super basic, rather cheap (most of the times) and is purely cosmetic, not pharmaceutical, whereas LRP is pharmaceutically tested and approved. Even if LRP is owned by the l'Oréal group, it's definitely the better (and pricier) of both brands.
nickj12 (1 day ago)
You said what I was thinking. I’m from America and I knew these products, with the exception of maybe the Bioderma, was “basic” skincare.

I really like the Avene spray, it actually does calm down irritated skin. Who would have thought water could do that? Lol I also have been wanting to try that La Roche Posay serum, but am going to try the Tarte Mermaid Skin serum first since I got it free with my recent Sephora purchase. You’ve got me interested in that Nuxe body oil, especially since it’s multipurpose and in a spray bottle. 🙌🏻 Thanks for sharing and glad your trip went well!

Well you really picked up the best ! I've been using almost everything you picked for multiple years (I live in Brussels, Belgium) and they are amazing. I guarantee you'll soon get hooked to the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse... The La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra range is a fail safe , but I found that the greatest product from the range is the Toleriane Ultra Nuit - the night cream in a blue bottle. I always have one on hand, and when my skin is upset, it fixes it in a matter of days. Beware with the Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré, never use it at night because of the petroleum in the formula - it will block other products from penetrating in your skin which is great under foundation, that's why it's a good primer. My favorite way of using it though is as a cream cleanser that I remove with a warm damp cloth 😊. Lovely video as usual, 😘
Nada Medhat (19 days ago)
Hi, can I contact you somewhere? I've got a few questions.
Emily Mariko (7 months ago)
Oooooh that’s so interesting why it works as a good primer!
jbel7510 (7 months ago)
I'm about to finish my La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Fluide :( love it! I didn't react badly to it, it hydrated and moisturised the skin well without making it too oily. I'm keen to try the night version though because that one has niacinamide.

Hey Glad (7 months ago)
People recommended you very good products! Even though I have not tried all of them, I have heard of a majority (the gloss from Embryolisse is a discovery for me, never heard of this one before). I love the Bioderma H2O, the Embryolisse cream, and both products you have from Avene. The Thermal Water from La Roche Posay with zinc is also very great! Maybe you could have a look at it next time 😊 One thing I just couldn't get around though, is the oil from Nuxe. It's a dry oil, and I HATE IT hahaha. I do prefer body lotion, but it's up to personal preferences I guess. If I can recommend you one thing from Nuxe, it's their Rêve de Miel lip products, I have the lip balm both in pot and tube format. The pot is near my bed and the tube in my handbag. I have been repurchasing it for 3 years now and I am in love with it. It makes my lips so smooth, even in the winter, I can not live without! You made me want to buy skincare, maybe I will get some pharmacy products next time I finish the ones I have 😇
Hey Glad (6 months ago)
Hi Emily, can't believe I haven't answered yet, it's been a month already! So, the balm in the pot is a thick and quite hard balm, especially in winter (I live in the Alps, but still manage to use it at this period). What I do is I glide my fingers on the side of the pot to get some product, this way it helps make it thinner, and then it applies quite well. I don't dig in straight in the middle. I feel like doing this helps melting it a bit, with the warmth of my fingers. But I understand it's not for everybody especially if you prefer very light textures :)
Emily Mariko (7 months ago)
I’ve tried reve de miel balm in the pot but for some reason it gets too hard for me! I want to warm it up somehow, is it soft for you?
Marta Luz (7 months ago)
Hi Emily. I've been recommended Cicalfate for my scars (knee surgery) by doctors and nurses and it really is great. I never thought to use it on acne, though. I also have crazy reactive skin and Bioderma is one of the few brands I can stand. Yay for French pharmacy.

As a french person who used to deal with acne I would swear by avene/bioderma but now that I have korean skincare products (cosrx/benton) I can't trust my old products because of the ingredients (for example almost all of bioderma/avene products aren't fragrance-free).
keith parkhill (6 months ago)
Mel Vlr I just recently started the effaclar line hopping for adult acne care and so far I find the stuff very very harsh. The Effaclar medicated gel cleanser is like washing your face with dandruff shampoo.
Mel Vlr (7 months ago)

The La Roche product might have Dimethicone in it.
Stephanie Paradine (2 months ago)
Try the bioderma sensibio moisturizer light. That's the one I use in sensitive to silicone they cause cystic acne on me I have sensitive highly reactive acne prone oily skin I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide and my skin doesn't like several ingredients Avene tolerant extreme cream doesn't have silicone and is amazing for highly reactive skin.
Vaughnie NuNu (6 months ago)
Ciara Marienne Sanchez PAredes it does have that chemical in its Toleriane line.
In the case of Toleriane it does not, I use it, I have very sensitive skin and after reviewing the ingredients I decided to buy it: Aqua/Water • Squalane • Glycerin • Dipropylene Glycol • Sodium Carbomer • Ethylhexyloxyglycerin/Ethylhexyglycerin • Capryl Glycol/Caprylyl Glycol. Though the Serum it has dimethicone :C
Emily Mariko (7 months ago)
I’ll check!

I have dry skin, very sensitive eyes and have had chemical burns from face peels along with acne. I use the LRP Toleriane Intense soothing care (not the fluid, but I assume they are very similar) on my eyes since it does not sting whatsoever and on my face in conjunction with the Cicalfate (or LRP Cicaplaste Baume + B5 which I actually like better) to help heal the damage acids have done. This combo has been saving my skin after overusing acne treatments and acids.
Emily Mariko (7 months ago)
It’s sooooo good to hear this stuff actually works as it claims to!
willy wonka (7 months ago)
Since I live in Portugal these French products are literally in every pharmacy (even though they're not exactly cheap lol). I recently made the decision to go cruelty free so I won't be buying them anymore. Still! The avene thermal water is amazing! After threading my eyebrows and my upper lip my skin gets sensitive for like 3 days and that helps with calming my skin a lot.
Darling Eli (6 months ago)
you should try Shigeta Paris it's organic.

The Avene Cicalfate literally SAVED my skin. I got cocky using a strong product on my face and my skin got really sensitive and was peeling for 2-3 weeks. It made me so depressed and helpless until I found that product. I started applying it every 2 hrs along with that same La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra moisturiser (the Cicalfate itself is more of a salve and not that moisturising) and my skin healed back to normal within 3 days 😍 If you guys have irritated skin, I highly recommend this product!
Emily Mariko (7 months ago)
Omgggg so happy I have these products in my life!!! Wish I had them a couple months ago when a new shampoo gave me a terrible neck rash lol!!
Thao, T. P, Nguyen (7 months ago)
I love the idea of a body oil but I can never get past the sweet synthetic smell of Nuxe. Sadly I haven't found any better alternatives, maybe Bio-Oil? I live in Quebec so French pharmacy classics are pretty accessible here (yay!). For Bioderma michellar water, I highly recommend their wiping sheet version - very mild to the skin, travel-friendly and fragrance-free. Wait, they are also as good as some Korean brand! La Roche-Posay Anthelios tinted sunscreen is my most favorite at the moment - expensive but the only one truly dries down to a comfortable matte finish and gives me a better even skin tone so I can go sans makeup. Last but not least, I'm currently obsessed with the entire haircare range of Klorane. Klorane dry shampoo is hand-down the best dry shampoo and a volumizing spray cheat. The other highlights are their hair treatment: the anti-aging olive leave-in concentrate positively promotes healthy hair growth and also helps reduce the visibility of baby white hair. (I know, it's crazy, I used to have tons of these sparkling white hair but all the new ones look visibly darker and blend well to my dark hair). The chamomile highlight spray is fun to have because I don't want to ruin my hair with DIY. But most of all, they smell so deliciously au naturel and I love catching the faint fragrance off my hair during the day. Very last tip: Canadian online retailers like Well.ca carries all these brands, they ship to the US as well and their service is super amazing

Hey Glad I do have them ..dark blue color..i will try bio oil
Hey Glad (7 months ago)
Hi, if you don't have them yet just hydrate your skin to prevent your skin from cracking, otherwise I don't think the oil from Nuxe will be the best there. Although on the brand's website they say you can use it daily and massage your skin to help with stretch marks, I would recommend you the Bio-oil :) For me the Nuxe oil is more for "glow" than for real moisture, like an accessory.
