Can you use the Fairlight as Audio Units within other programs?

Great walk through of those apps. Fun track too!

That swallow saliva sound is so disgusting! Please don’t do it.

Excellent review Doug. I've never regretted taking the plunge for the Pro version. The workflow of making samples and new instruments is immense. Speeding up the sample to shift frequency is typical Jarre, and something I was looking for :)

8:00 Feels like Boards of Canada for some reason...

Every other time I buy an instrument app for my iphone, the iOS updates and kills it, I go to contact the developer about it, only to find out that the company no longer exists. I've lost so many good instrument apps that I've paid for that way. At this point, I've stopped using IOS as a platform for my music. Many of these people churn out an app to make money and then go on to do other things, just abandoning the app.

BlackburnBigdragon That's why you go with solid, well-known developers. Arturia, Korg, Moog, Caustic, he guys behind Sunrizer, Magellan, etc are all great apps and developers.

Any chance you could do an updated version of this for those who just discovered it? I'm curious what new apps you like.

I imagine this being the theme to a 1983 American TV series about a video-gamer kid who is pals with an alien robot.

Hi. How are you? I been trying to get in touch with you to pick your brain so to speak. Like you I am a synth sound like and I use garage band and so on. I am on sound cloud as well where I have up loaded a few demos such as my re-working of Gary Numan Kraftwerk and other. I nearly finished my version of Autobahn that I bet you'll like. My sound cloud name bestrickie2 so by all means have a nose. Cheers.

I liked this one a lot, blast to the past was right... i love and have all these apps and you inspired me to make an 80s tune... in the vogel cmi i have a bank i created with all the famous sounds and another one using the sounds pet shop boys used on their music. would love to share them if i knew how.. anyway great video.

How about a series on using IOS synths to create some of the "sounds" of the eighties? Pick a synth, init, and go through the steps required to sculpt the sound. Would be interesting from a production standpoint for people who are unfamiliar with aspects of synthesis. The focus of the video could remain on the patch, but it offers a view on how elements like modulation, filtering and the like combine. Just an idea to fill those days with no releases!

That's an excellent idea! +1 :)

awesome. This is thesoundtestroom I want to see you make a series of. 80's retro. metal by decade. hip hop by decade, etc. it will be  a new niche and your own thing. I almost set this up myself, but I am a professor in China with a shaky vpn for you tube. Doug, you just made my day. thoroughly enjoyed this. iprophet might have found a way in here too. What do you think?
The Sound Test Room (4 years ago)
Thanks, you just made mine, iProphet could have worked, and it would have for sure if it was a sim of the five, I also considered iSEM although that hit late 70's I think, as for others, I suppose I could do a few but my niche is the 80's I guess, thanks again for the kind words
